Aaah my Princess is there! Does this one hum? On low it is unbearable. Then again, I think the sound is traveling through the metal beam that holds the outlet boxes. Apparently those Altura turned really good and it seems they have sold a lot of these. The blades are really cool. It only goes 55-60 RPM on high. I can't really tell how much air it puts out because the only place I had room to put it was right next to both GE's, one of which is on the same circuit as this fan, and I'm not about to waste a bunch of time undoing wires so I can see how much air a Hampton Bay blows. Oh those GE don't have a switch to turn them off nor change the speeds!

I added a light kit to the Presidential; maybe it'll finally sell Forgot to get pics of the Harbor Breezes that came in. They're Litex, dated 1998, and look like cheap(er?) versions of the Hampton Bay Cameron II. Anyone know what these were called?

I've never seen those blade extenders, very weird, and kind of ugly too. I really like the blades on it though.

I like the first two huggers..though those blade bracket extenders I don't like. Never had to deal with them though. I also like that Pres. Nice looking fan that would complete my dining room or living room. I also like that spinner too.

I guess it's unanimous then... the spacers are ugly! They look even worse in person.

whats the purpose of the spacers?

To bring the blades a little further away from the ceiling. Blades too close to the ceiling = no air moved. I'd imagine they used these before they started making the actual flush mount brackets with the extended arms.
There's another type of old CEC hugger with a giant housing, no design on the side, and an almost flat bottom/face. Of the five or six that I've seen, all of them use regular (non-hugger) brackets with no spacers, and the part of the bracket that mounts to the motor almost always scrapes up against the motor housing. That may be another reason for the spacers, to keep the edge of the bracket mount away from the housing.

Wow, you picked an old post to comment on. You're correct, the fan did not come with its glass so I had to pick out three that matched and put them on there. If you are indeed Perrey - do you still have that Tyeb 6-blade I sold you a number of years ago? Did you ever hang it and/or do any tinkering with it? It was a noisy wobbly-box and I finally figured out Tyeb didn't pre-balance their blades. Yes I still have it. And in the same Casa Vieja box you ship it. I haven't had the time to work on refurbishing it. The 4-times I have tested it, it has never wobble.
