I just posted a thread introducing myself, over in the "General" section.
I figure I would start out by sharing pictures of the Ceiling Fans in my Home.
(Sorry if the resolution is bad, my Camera phone's camera is less than spectacular.)
First of all, some of the fans are dusty, and need to be cleaned, so I apologize.
The first picture I would like to share, is my very favorite ceiling fan in the house. It's located in my Dining Room. It is a very ornate 6-blade, 5-Light Encon, of which the Model name escapes me.
I really like this fan. My mother to this day tells people how much she hates that my Dad and I picked it out because it is "ugly" and "overdone." It actually fits in my house quite well, living in a 1907 colonial. Unfortunately the airflow isn't so great. But it does it's job as far as looks go.
The next fan is located in our family room. I absolutely hate this fan. The Family room was an addition to our house, and my Dad was looking for a fan, and picked this awful fan out, for ~$20 at WalMart. We didn't want a light kit, so I had to mod a cap to go where the lightkit was, as this didn't have a seperate cap.. It's so cheap looking.
The next fan is located in my bedroom. It is awesome. It's a Hunter, and I can no longer remember the model name. It is a 44" in Brushed Nickel Finish. It was a birthday present, that I got to pick out, to replace my old "rust" finished fan. I've had it, and my lights (wired up myself, controlled both by remote) for about 4 years. I'm sure you all know how great Hunter fans are. I love how quiet it is, and the awesome airflow.
The next fan is in my sisters room. A plain looking Hampton Bay 42" Littleton. I'm not a big fan of this design. But it's quiet, and has a decent amount of airflow.
The next fan is located in my parents bedroom. It's old, and was installed in 1994 when we moved in. I don't know what the brand name is, or where it is from, my Dad doesn't remember. It is a "classic" design I've seen on many fans. It's got nice airflow, but makes an odd and quiet scraping noise when operating, we have never been able to figure out.
Well there are my fans. I also have recently started a collection, including a very small Monte Carlo, of which I haven't even opened the box, and a few older fans, disassembled. I'll post some pics, and maybe people will be interested in them!
Enjoy! Please let me know what you think!
Thanks!
Joel
