My town uses mostly Ford Crown Victorias and sometimes Chevy Caprices. Your towns must have some older cars. My town has newer Chevy Impalas.

Right here it depends of the area., where i now live and where i use to live the deparments have '02 and '03 Chrysler Sebring sedans and Jeep Liberty marked and unmarked., most of the cities have '00 and' 01 Crown Victorias and 90 something Chevy Caprices., The highway patrol have three types; '97 Camaros, '02 Crown Victorias and some '89 Mustangs.
Only poor town {A.K.A. Homestead and Florida City} have the old '95 Ford Crown Victorias.

The Po Po here drive Crown victs and Tahoes. The Fuzz has it in for me and my friends because when I do something wreckless like this The Po Po no love. So far I've only gotten two warnings an a speeding ticket (im my Gf's car for cryin' outloud!). Also the Po Po dosnt like it when I race some rich-snoody kid in his Dad's BMW and I smoke the doors off that German Nazi Junk, but I like to blow that dork away.

The cops where I live mostly use Crown Victorias and Impalas, though I have seen a few Tahoes and also some unmarked Grand Marquises and Lincolns Town Cars.

Every time I see Crown Victorias I get nervous.
I always thought all Fords were crappy cars, but the Victorias must be able to haul ass if both the cops and the taxis use them.

Police Crown Vics have special engines in them, yet they still top out at around 130. The older Crown Vics from the early 90s accelerate faster than the newer ones according to a police officer that I asked about his car. The Highway Patrol usually uses 325 hp Camaros or 5 liter Mustang GTs. These are the cars they use to really move.

Crown Victoria's and Impalas were it when this thread was started.
Now they are being replaced mostly with Ford Explorers and Dodge Chargers. I've seen one Durango Cop car in the most recent generation.

Just with the addition of dual exhaust, a 3.27 rear end(trak lok or open diff), an aluminum driveshaft, a transmission cooler and a slightly larger MAF. I don't get why people think CVPIs are some godly car..they're base model fleet cars with a couple things done to them...and 90% of them are beat to absolute crap, especially the marked units. The fastest CVPI was the 2004 year and it ran mid 15s in the 1/4 mile and had 250hp(200 to the rear wheels). They are NOT fast at all compared to todays cars...but they are tough as nails and will take a hell of a beating. Which is why I've owned two of them. (a 1989 Lincoln Towncar and a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria)

Most of them around here are Ford Explorers, in fact I saw one coming to work this morning. My uncle is a cop, he told me that they get about 3-5 MPG in those things lol
