I am looking at a pair of NIB Hunter Paramount XPs on ebay that are in the "weathered brick" color. Does anyone have realworld experience on this color? I've seem pictures online of the color and some look like a matte brown, but some looks almost orange with streaks of brown. These would be the primary lighting in 2 fairly large bedrooms so I also need a light kit. Does anyone currently make light kits in a close enough color to match? I was hoping to find something in a low profile globe that fit 2 bulbs. The room is currently lit with a bowl using 2x 60w candelabra bulbs and I don't want to have less light, preferably more. I don't want to pull the trigger on these if I don't think I can find a light kit to match. I've been having a really hard time deciding on fans for these 2 rooms. My other 2 bedrooms are Emerson Premium Selects in Brushed Steel that I found on Amazon for $150 (less blades). If I could find more of those I would order in a heartbeat but they seem to have all dried up. These are big rooms and I have no AC so want something with some power. I also don't want to deviate from the basic shape of the Premium Selects and love the airflow they provide. I also want these 2 rooms to coordinate so I need to find a pair of fans the same color, but it has been tough. New Panama's are out of my pricerange at $499. I found a single NIB Panama XLP on ebay for a good price but I am scared to pull the trigger on that one if another one of that color never comes up for sale. Any recommendations on where to look other than ebay, or are there any quality large motor traditional looking fans that don't cost $500 like the current Panamas?

Have you tried checking Craigslist, Marketplace etc? Thats where I get all of my stuff. I can say the a Weathered brick match will be tough these days. My best tip would be to get a white light kit, ensure the electric parts are protected, then spray paint it.

I’ve tried Marketplace and Craigslist, but I am in small town not near anything big so it’s mostly junk. That’s what I was afraid of on the light kits color. The price on the Paramounts is right but I’d rather not have to paint a light fixture, plus I wasn’t sold on the brick, would rather have a darker finish. I might just try buying the NIB Maiden Bronze Panama XLP off eBay and hope another one pops up eventually.

I have the same issue as you nothing really good ever comes up on Marketplace or Craigslist in my area. Have you tried Habitat or other thrift stores in your area? Sometimes you can luck out, I found a nice pair of Emerson Apollos recently at a local thrift. I feel your pain, it's hard to find great performing traditional fans these days, most of the stock of the older XLP/K55 type fans from Casablanca and Emerson has sold out, and what is left is really high in price and rarer seen. The Paramounts XPs are very good fans. I second the suggestion on painting the light kit though it can be hard to match, you can match the color at some stores and have it put in spray paint cans. I may suggest the Minka Aire Supra, they can be found reasonably and have good performing motors. Motors are 188X15 on both 44" and 52", which is great for the 44" version and still very good for the 52". They are a little more transitional in looks than the Emersons, but not terribly different looking. I'm more traditional and I still like them, they have kind of a vintage Emerson styling to them. You can order online at Lowes but Build.com seems to have the most selection of finishes and way cheaper prices. Around $140-160 depending on the finish. Should be easy to find the light kit you want to match. Here's the 52" from Build.com www.build.com/product/summary/717792I would not suggest a new Panama, as both the DC and spinner versions seem to have their drawbacks and reliability is just not as great for the price range they're going for. If you can find an XLP version I'd go for it, I did get one a few years ago. Unfortunately you missed out on the deals as a year or two ago there was a clearance on them for around $120 in the XLP motor version. The XLP motor versions don't come up as often anymore, there are those two on Ebay which are quite pricey and they don't match. There are a few other transitional fans available with some quite well performing motors, which can be had rather inexpensively. One such model that comes to mind is the Monte Carlo Grand Prix, has a huge 212X25 spinner motor, and can be had around $100 on eBay. It's not bad looking. They may be too big at 60", but you do say the rooms are big so maybe it would work. I've heard good things about these though and they are nice fans for the price. I'm not sure you'll find anything like them in that price range. Grand Prix on eBay www.ebay.com/p/667260810

I’ve looked at the Supra but it’s just too soft for me. I like the Ultra-Max but I don’t know if I like it 2x as much.
I saw the Hinkley Windward mentioned here before and those come in at a pretty good price. The pictures I see of those online make them look a bit cheap though, something about the blade irons I don’t like.
The other one I was considering is the Gulf Coast Dixie Belle. I like the look, but @$260 it comes in at about the same price as I can get Panama XLP NIB on eBay. Again though the risk of the XLP is I don’t know if I’ll ever find a second one to match. I would think the XLP should blow more air than the Dixie belle, no?

Another question I came up with digging into these, there are several Panama spinner models on Hansen Wholesale. Why is the 55030 model with no blades rated at 7475cfm but the 55069 model which seems the same except it includes blade is rated at 6396 cfm?

One looks outdoor and the other indoor, the controls and size also seem different. Id say to just go with the stronger if you are serious about buying it. Theres more info available on that one and the blades are still available on Hansen too.
