The lack of a light kit was likely Hunter's most significant challenge when marketing Originals in home-centers. Think about it - the average, causal DIYer doesn't want the hassle of purchasing yet another item (further adding to the bill) and that's before you factor-in other considerations such as required-maintenance. On the topic of light kits, its a tad surprising that Hunter isn't producing a "uni-packed" Original at this point, though who knows...we might see this later-on. The "larger fans" trend must not be as prevalent up here in the Great White North. I guess us Canucks still like our sale-priced, 42" fans straight from the Canadian Tire flyer

The "larger fans" trend must not be as prevalent up here in the Great White North. I guess us Canucks still like our sale-priced, 42" fans straight from the Canadian Tire flyer That is a smart way to look at it. There likely won't be a unipacked Original just because one of those would be priced at least $600 USD (the Original is $499 USD raw). If we did see this, it would be some specialty classic Original replica, kind of like the Hotel Original was. This phenomenon may be because there is a whole half of Canada (Eastern Canada) that isn't in tune with a cultural/social way more similar to that of the United States where Western Canada is primarily English-speaking and more influenced by what occurs in the US. This could be a factor carrying into the design of pieces in current vogue; you'd likely see more of this open-concept design influence in modern buildings in Western Canada more than Eastern Canada. Plus, there are still a lot of lower-end fans that are small and inexpensive sold in Canada, where the cheapest it gets in the US is an Armitage or a Farmington.

There are some black and chestnut brown renewed Originals on Amazon right now if you're looking for those colors vs the white ones.

I love these Hunter Original fans. This thread is super. I have two white 52" fans running and have a 42" white one to install. I need one one metal blade holder and a set of 4 blades. Hunter doesn't sell them anymore ;< any Idea of a place to get new old stock or adapt other holders and blades? Thanks! Michael
