Really interesting catalogs, thanks for posting.. It's incredible to think of how much these things costed back in the day, but it was a case of getting what you paid for since they all still work 60+ years later..

I know they were expensive back then being that the prices for today's fans are about the same. I have plugged some of those prices into an inflation calculator just out of curiosity and it seems like your basic box fans from the 60's runs about $90-$100 in today's money. I'd be willing to pay $100 for a brand new box fan today if it was powerful and would last over 60 years without issue.

Neat stuff! What you and Jordan are saying about the cost relates to how things were bought back then - these fans were an investment that would last a lifetime with a little basic maintenance.

Nice catalogs! Thanks for posting, I see a lot of familiar fans there, neat to see the prices. In a way it's a good thing we live in this day and age, we couldn't have afforded to collect fans back then!
I remember seeing some 70s and late 60s Grainger catalogs at the DT site.
