That's a really cool fan, especially with 5 blades. I would have thought Lasko too, odd.

Sweet find! Still cool even though it doesn't have the Lasko "Skeletal" motor... LOVE that cane as well.

This fan is made by CEI (Compass East Industries). Hunter DID use them as an OEM, especially in the late 90s/Early 2000s, as the main manufacturer of the Airmax motor. Not sure if they used them in the 80s, but who knows. Most if not all 80s spinner Hunters were Taiwanese. CEI moved to Thailand around 1988.

I stayed a few times as a very young child in a motel in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, that had two of these in their restaurant. I was too young to appreciate them, but even at less than ten years old, I assumed they were Lasko, judging by the canopy and such. Saw them turned on only once, at a medium-high speed in reverse. At 32, this is the only other time I have seen one of these fans!

PS, They had Tiffany lights attached to them, and hung at a steep angle from short downrods on a beamed ceiling. Quite the setup.
