I used to make up fantasy ceiling fans for certain places.
I made up a hotel, and it was a very old one from the 20s. For the ceiling fans, I picked Hunter Originals from 1993, since I imagined the hotel was last renovated/restored in 1993. So white Originals in the lobby and dining room. In the kitchen I imagined a white Fasco Great Room, plus Fasco Great Rooms or Charlestons in the hotel rooms! Plus in the old attic area, was a Lasko Contemporary and an old heavy GE vent motor fan as those rooms had been last updated in the 80s.
Plus of course there could be antique portable fans here and there. Oh, and GE box fans everywhere too, as I imagined they bought a bunch of them in the 60s or 70s to use in the hotel!
Now for real fans in old hotels. There's an old hotel in my town from 1916. Unfortunately it closed down in 2016. But in one of the rooms, which was like a sunporch, there were Hunter Comfort Breezes in brown from the 80s. They may still be there. Plus my friend said there was a 6 bladed small ceiling fan somewhere in the building. They said they might give it to me but I never heard back about it. It sounded like one of those little hotel fans.

That's cool, though I would call it fictional ceiling fan, since it could happen in real life. Fantasy really means it can't really happen in real life, but anyways, that's a cool story!

I did quite a lot as i remember
I used to build houses in lego, if the guy "operates the ceiling fan" i would shake the whole house as if the fan is wobbling
I used to take an empty 10 piece cd case, place a battery inside, make blades from foam board, use a pencil or pen and shake that cd case to make it spin as a ceiling fan upside down.. to make things interesting i was blowing powder on it to make the blades collect dust
I had a 9 volt operated motor in lego, i would build windmills and make it operate

Oh man... ALL THE TIME!
I also write fiction stories (some of you might know about them) and I frequently include stuff I see on here.

I often wish Casablanca would bring back classics like the Venus and San Marino in the "reclaimed" finishes that are so popular these days. Keep both fan collectors and buyers happy - in theory! Alas, that won't happen. I just don't like Hunter-Blanca's current design language.
