That Hacienda looks great. I have a 52” that looks like that.
This reminds me, I have a NuTone catalog from 12/87 that I need to post here. I think this was near the very end of when they offered the Hacienda and Verandah II’s that still looked like the Verandah Deluxe. I have an Elegance from 7/88, but Elegance’s aren’t mentioned in the 1987 catalog.
Nutones are incredible fans - easily my favorite brand. Amazing quality. Love those thick teak blades on the Hacienda. They never droop at all.
I hope to own a Verandah Deluxe or Verandah II that looks like a Deluxe someday.

Nice Hacienda! Also I just noticed the Kenmores have the name on the pull chain knobs, that's really cool, I never knew they did that.

As you may have seen elsewhere already, Chuck Matthews sent another Irene my way. This time it's a 3-HLK in brushed brass. I've been continuing improvements at my parents' place, and really wanted a fan in the current soft brass finish palette to anchor and make the statement of that finish right at the front door as you enter the house. I loved the Cambridge I had installed, it was maybe my favorite install in the house, but it was already starting to feel out of place with some of the changes we're making and have planned. Problem is, there are so few fan options available in this finish, and practically none in the ~42" size range. I know of a couple options, but when I saw that Matthews/Atlas was offering this, I knew it was perfect. I expressed my interest in such a product, and it was here a few days later. Chuck is awesome. The size and profile of the fan in this location are extremely important in maintaining the scale of the space. It can't hang too low, so the hugger option is perfect, and it can't be too large because it would overpower the entry. It's basically a wide open space into the living room, but there's still definition to the entry area that feels weird if the fan is too big. My concern before was not having enough light, however I realized with the Cambridge that I'd overdone it. The direct downlight of the Irene is perfect, it shines exactly onto the space it needs to, nowhere else. Enough light to be functional, but it's much more subtle. I just absolutely love it, I think it looks so good and will look even better as we continue to update around it.

That thing carries quite an exotic price tag! Too modern in styling for my preference, but I have to say it does look quite good there..

That thing carries quite an exotic price tag! Too modern in styling for my preference, but I have to say it does look quite good there.. That can't be denied, everything from Matthews-Atlas-Gerbar carries with it a rather exorbitant investment compared to other products. But I also can't deny that I think it's worth it. Especially in the more specialty realm that Matthews caters to, good design costs. They've created a very approachable fan for low ceilings that interior designers are willing to embrace, not an easy feat. If you move into the directional/rotational/wall fan category, it's a waste of time looking at any other options on the market that fall into the residential decorative category. None of them measure up. Matthews offers specialty design, finish variety, quality build and performance, and pure flexibility like nobody else.

I really like that Matthews, with a brass finish, it fits perfectly in an old house, and is modern enough to fit in with newer homes as well. I also love that Hacienda, the motor appears beefy for its overall size.

Sorry for being a bit behind on this thread, I've been working on a lot with fans alone. Received two new products back to back and also slipped in some tutorial videos which are always more intensive. Kichler sent the new for 2018 Kyte my way. Anybody who really cares has probably seen the review and other videos already. A very interesting fan, beautifully built, not a good air mover but for me this is one fan that can get away with it. This was a very conscious choice of form over function. Normally if the form brings the function down I'm not really here for it, but when a manufacturer takes this risky of a leap in that regard, I think it deserves recognition when every other aspect slays. The build on this is up there with the Jade I reviewed last year, some of the most beautiful components I've seen from Kichler and the industry today. I see multiple places they could've taken shortcuts to minimize costs with stamped or hollow metals, etc. but they didn't. Essentially everything below the stationary top part is die cast components, aside from the blades, of course. Also, this Panama (5) that I recently did the 3 speed conversion video on. I bought this thing cheap so long ago specifically to use for that video. Kind of had to put it all into a cohesive unit myself, though. From what I can piece together based on what I received, this fan's board probably died and I believe Casablanca sent them a newer factory renewed Panama. I deduce that from the box it came to me in. They must have used the existing downrod, probably a longer extension rod if I had to guess, and the Hang-Tru, leaving the new Perma•Lock and Hang-Tru with this old motor. I did not receive any blade arms with it, no clue where the set they didn't use ended up. At one point over the past couple years I grabbed this newer set of AB arms on eBay, knowing that I needed them for this fan. The blades are a NIB set that I had on hand and hadn't tried on anything yet. I also replaced the bearings while it was apart. Stopped recording in the middle of my video to swap 'em quick. Super happy to have this even though it's a basic Panama, I like having basic finish Panamas on hand for general filler in case I need them.
