I got my first new fan of the year and I thought I'd start a new thread for my finds this year. This has to be one of my favorite ceiling fans ever, they aren't very common in my area, but I finally got one, that is a Hunter Original. This one has a polished brass plate, pecan blades with rattan inserts. I am not sure, but I believe it is the pre 1984 shaded pole motor, I see no reverse switch and can only hold 4 blades. It even came with the instruction manual, which has a copyright date of 1979, I'm not sure about the date of the fan itself. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Nice! I just found a bright brass (model # 22274) 1982 model last month, it has the same cane but is ReversAire. I think I paid $25 for it. Great fans!!!

Yours might be a 22272 which is Chestnut Brown (I also have one of those, was my great uncle's fan) and mine is a 22274 which is Bright Brass.

Also, is the RockAuto box yours I would like to get a switch cap and install it without a light in our living room, but there is no wiring overhead. The light kit base is a little bent, but I think it could work. The living room is the only place I would put it without a light, if it ends up in my bedroom, it will need a light. Regardless of where it goes, I would need to get shorter extension pole. The RockAuto box came with the fan blades and literature. Unfortunately, I don’t have too much time now to work on my car right now. The only thing I would do to my car anyway would be an APR tune.

For wiring, have you considered a swag kit or running WireMold?

I haven't updated this thread in a while but here's a few more fans I got: 36" NuTone slimline in antique brass, it was actually just a few blocks away from me and I couldn't pass it up.

I got two Minka Aire Supras in oil rubbed bronze for my grandparent's house. They both have a light kit and remote. So far I installed one in their master bedroom and I get to keep the hugger fan it replaces.

The Nutone was a great find.. I like the brass hugger too, is it a Hampton Bay?

The Nutone was a great find.. I like the brass hugger too, is it a Hampton Bay? It did not say Hampton bay anywhere on it. If I had to guess I would say Caribbean Classics, they seemed to be fairly common in the mid-late 90's. I believe the label on the motor said '96, I can't remember what month.
