Does anyone have Knapp Monarch fans? I have seen some earlier models, I don't believe they made brass blade or cage fans though. Come of the earlier ones were badged Chevron or Kwik Way.
I have three, one is a small 6" or so stationary with metal blades labeled Kwik Kool sold by Montgomery Wards. Probably 1950s vintage.
Another is labeled Sears and has a square open base, avocado green with three plastic lime green blades, three speed oscillating. (I have the manual for this one) The manual says 1971 on it.
And the other is lableled Westinghouse and is avocado with a white square base, two speed oscillating and has the 12" Livelyaire style blades in white.
I know Hoover bought out Knapp Monarch in 1969, so sometimes you see the fans labeled Hoover. I saw some of the last Knapp Monarch fans and they had the three plastic white blades, a blue base and motor and a chrome OSHA cage with big silver badge that said K-M on it. Also they had a grounded cord. I believe the last ones were made in 1977 or after.

Interestingly, I read a thread on DT, that Knapp Monarch actually made the motors for the later Westy Lively Aires, but reversed them to spin counter clockwise. I believe around that time the white 3 blade oscillator you're describing was sold as a Sears with a green base and blades.

I have a couple Knapp Monarchs two Jack Frosts another says just Monarch . I Have a couple with the Montgomery Wards badge on them. another has KOLDAIR on the badge. They seem to be a good fan to me . I like the old ones with the cast base and metal blades. I'm looking for a motor or the coils for a Chevron I have herd that the K.M.'S made in the 50's have ball bearings on both ends of the motor.

Interestingly, I read a thread on DT, that Knapp Minarch actually made the motors for the later Westy Lively Aires, but reversed them to spin counter clockwise. I believe around that time the white 3 blade oscillator you're describing was sold as a Sears with a green base and blades. That is true and they also made the motor in the last Rivieras as well, the avocado ones the motor looks like the ones in the K-M desk fans.

My Kwik Kool was a Montgomery Wards brand. I don't know about the ball bearings, I guess it's possible.
