Although the prices for Canarm CP are right around 100$ or slightly more in home centers, some specific places can have them for a lot less. I bought my Canarm CP48 in 2012 for only 30$. That was a really really good deal and later in 2015 my brown CP56 for 50$. They are very good fans that can be found for around 100$, slightly more or less depending on where it's bought. Note: The prices mentionned are in CAD. They are solid fans. However, "industrial fans" or fans with blades of metal must be mounted so that its blades are at least 10 feet from the floor, so not fit for a bedroom...

The Minka Aire Contractor won't have as good build quality as the Glendale.

The Minka Aire Contractor won't have as good build quality as the Glendale. Not the standard contractor, which is indeed cheaply built, but this is their newer, upgraded model. And you can't necessarily say since none of us have had hands-on experience with a unit of this series, which is why I only mentioned rated performance. The Glendale isn't particularly well built either, having felt the material quality, but it is better than the Brookhurst and better than something that's totally dumpster filler. If not that, the Aire Décor is definitely built better than the Glendale, which I know first-hand.

With all this conversation of the Glendale, Contractor etc.
I honestly say if you want new and 52" put the little bit extra out and get the Supra!
The rest of it is going to be junked in a few years.

Is the (apparently discontinued) Landmark crap as well? When I started searching, I tried to look for the older designs at the hope they might still be of decent quality.

The Landmark is trash, for all intent and purposes (or at least the recently discontinued SMC version). But yeah, I fully agree with parkman here; if you want something the same size as what it's replacing and new, I'd just spend a little extra and buy a Supra; those are better than most anything you can buy under $150 or even under $200. The only other fan I would consider in this price range would be the Aire Décor, since they are built relatively well overall and perform well, but that's only if I absolutely couldn't go a bit over $100 (and buy something that's an overall better product).

I don't want to leave behind any good fans, but feel obligated to sell the house with at least a ceiling fan in the master bedroom.

The version without the light kit is around $130 but I don't know how much the version with a light kit costs. I'll update when I find out. UPDATE: The version with the light is $200, but it has a remote control and is not pull-chain operated like the rest.

Even without the light kit, I still think you are getting one of the best deals you can. Most unipack fans (fans with lights) at this price are builderfans with light kits, home store fans; items such as those that will not last for long.
And I understand completely what you mean; I have the same situation going over here, but my budget is around $200. My ceiling fan in my bedroom (Harbor Breeze, about $350 new) stopped working after 10 years of being here, so I have to replace it for under $200, with something new. In THAT budgeting range, the best deal for my money is Hunter's crap ton of new old Paramount XP stock. But my mom and I don't plan on staying here for the long run, so I have to buy a good fan that I'm not going to want to take with me whenever we move. So something like the Supra would be perfect for me right now.

Like Noah said, Paramount XP or Supra. You can get a generic light kit for the Supra or get the Unipack. I believe they make a model or two that are integrated and you would transfer the "guts like the capacitor and pull chain" from the switch housing to the light kit housing like Hunter does. You'd have to look at a Minka Aire Catalog on their website or go on Hansen Wholesale I believe they have it on the page Noah provided.

We are both looking for good fans for very good prices, but fans that we would be comfortable with leaving behind. If you are looking for the absolute best bang for buck on the market, go Paramount XP. If you are looking for the best bang for buck on a product that is well-made but not something you'd feel the need to keep or transport with you, buy the Supra. The Unipack isn't as good of a deal since it's $200, and if you buy a normal Supra and add a light kit it's cheaper. They don't make any like what you are describing, parkman, where you take out the switch housing's internals and transfer them. And the fan you speak of with the integrated (from switch housing) LED light kit is Minka's new builderfan.

I was told the K35 light kit by Minka was like that. I could be wrong.. The K35 light is for the Classica ceiling fan, and how you use it is you either buy the fan with the K35 already on, or you buy it separately, disconnect the Molex cable from the normal switch cup, then attach the Molex cable for the K35.

If you're looking to spend the extra $20 the Hunter Westminster is pretty good too.
