Great finds as always, did Martin join you this year? Matin posted a video of his finds on one of the Facebook groups.

Martin was indeed out in full force as well. We always work separately to cover more ground, but there's certainly plenty to go around.

This is incredible.. Tons of great stuff here.. It never fails to amaze me what people throw out.. Those GE box fans look like they're new.. Why would someone toss those!??!?!
What's the floor fan in the first picture? That is quite an obscurity..
We have one of those Kenmore HV fans in the second picture at church.. It lacks power..
Does the Lakewood HV-18 run?
Is it just an illusion from the picture, or are there some abnormally ginormous oscillating fans here?
Interesting SMC pedestal fan,, I've seen those branded Hampton Bay before.. There used to be one in a local pizza joint years ago..

Awesome finds! I think I like the GEs and the avocado Lasko box fan the most. The rotating grille fan is interesting, I don't think I've ever seen a 20" rotating grille fan before.

Early Galaxy HV fan. Kenmore actually works, it's alright IMO but the build isn't impressive. I found it with the Lakewood HV-9 so I'm going to assume that probably works too but haven't tested, they're both very clean so IDK what wasteful idiot threw them out. HV-18 ran but the back cage was all cut up for some reason, like literally a bunch of pieces missing. It's hard to see in the pic. I saved the good motor to have as a spare. The big ones are just 16" other than the SMC pedestal, so just the pictures I guess.

Finally have one cleaned up to post! Just ye old classic blue 12" Tatung. Martin gave me the Montgomery Ward version awhile back, which needed work as did the Tatung one I found. Was able to combine the two into one very pristine fan that looks great and runs great other than a minor balance/vibration issue, nothing major.

Looks great! What do you do to restore shine to the guards?

I literally didn't have to do anything to this one other than wash it off. But if I do anything, I steel wool them with super fine 0000. On some cages it doesn't really work, but on others the difference is incredible.

Use 0000 steel wool soaked in WD40

Back with another. This thing cleaned up pretty well considering how bad it was when I found it. If it had been something more common I'd probably have just parted it out, it's still not in great shape, but I had to salvage it since it's kind of a weird thing. Very similar to the JAB thing that Martin gave me a year or two back, this one simply has a sticker on the bottom that says 'JET 16" desk fan'.
