Heres a few recent finds i never posted here. The trash found Lakewood P-223 2nd gen. this is an interesting one. (well the back story is) i seen this during my walk around the neighborhood. and the guy was not home at the time. so i went back later knocked on his door asked about this and a 1200DX that was sitting in his backyard. he told me that they did not run. so take them. this one ran perfectly fine. the DX on the other hand became a parts donor for anther DX i found. And now the Robeson. i also found this in the trash. it was sitting next to a bunch of dead potted plants and they had grown onto the back grill. this fan was nasty. it had a spider nest and a live spider inside the motor. i cleaned all that out and oiled it and it runs perfectly fine now. And now for the Holmes Tropi Cool this is one of the more recent ones. i had bought this back in 2011 and gave it to my friends to use. i got it back it was pretty dusty. but ran perfectly fine. The Champion 16" Desk fan. i got this at my local flea market for $7. it sat there for over a year and i passed on it many times. i felt bad for it so it came home with me. it will be going to anther collector soon in trade for anther fan i want. And finally the Lakewood 1200DX this fan was anther case of me lending out a fan..but this one was in bad shape when i got it back. it was missing the front grill and was really dirty. luckly since i had that parts DX i used its grill for this one and cleaned it up. runs great! And here is it with its bigger brother the 1600DX

Lots of good fans here.. Neat story behind the Lakewoods,, always nice when that happens.. My aunt has the same Robeson box fan.. I did some service on it years ago,, I probably have some pictures somewhere.. The Champion looks like a decent fan,, what year is it from? Those Tropicool fans are cheap, but I always thought they were pretty cool.. Awesome pair of Lakewoods,, I hope to find a 1200DX soon..

One of these days I hope to get that Robeson fan from them.. They never use it anymore now that they got air conditioning.. In the next few weeks I'll dig out the media I've got of that fan and get it on here..
The Eastern Electric definitely looks early.. Could the grinding be coming from the oscillating mechanism?
Those box fans are garbage.. but I have garbage childhood fans which I like also.. Especially ceiling fans..
I wish I knew you were looking for one of those Eskimo fans.. Would have gladly given you one,, I own half the world's population of them.. LOL

Hey if you want to part with any. ill gladly take them LOL iv looked into the gearbox. everything seemed fine to me. i might take it apart again and take a anther look at it. runs fine other than that. As for the box fan. it not nearly as good as the 90's Lasko/Galaxy box fans. but it does move good air for what it is.

It does. it has practically the same exact blade as my 1999 Lasko 3723. same hard plastic. just a smaller shaft size for the newer motors.

I have a Tropicool, but mine is blue and green. It always makes me thirsty to look at them for some reason. Odd thing is, I got mine way back in 1999 or so, but I started seeing them again a few years ago at Walmart.

Are they still making them today?I just looked on the Holmes website, and I don't see any, so I guess not. I do remember it was pretty recent that they were at Walmart, probably less than 3 years ago.

Looks like the only fan they've really held onto over the years is the twin window fan with the purple blades.. I've got one of those from the 90s.. Would be interesting to see if the current one still has the same power to it.. Probably not..
