I went to Detroit on the 25th..I have never seen such a decaying city before, it makes every ghetto in Canada look like Beverly Hills. Was quite the experience..something I won't forget. I also met THE Andrew Goold, cool dude with a kick ass beard. I also got fans from him. Union hugger, cylindrical housing with a cast iron motor. Evergo spinny thing. BY FAR, the most favourite thing he gave me. An Encon/CG High Breeze 56" steel bladed industrial Also for the lulz. I also have pics of an abandoned kids playplace thingy that we explored.

Yes Andrew told me about this trip. It's cool that you met.
I'm glad you got a Crompton Greaves High Breeze four blades, very nice! I hope it came with the extension pole and the other canopy.

Came with the other canopy, but I gotta hit a hardware store and get a downrod for it. I have a banged up Silverline that is gonna donate its pulley wheel assembly. Evergo Spinner absolutely flies Union hugger is meh, its got noisy bearings too. Havent tested the Crompton Greaves yet, its still sitting in my truck

Union Evergo, yeah I know the blades are upside down. The brackets look odd when they're face down.

Nice clear pictures this time.
Are the silver brackets on the Evergo original or they were brass before?

My aunt lived in an old Victorian home for many years. Had one of those cylindrical Unions in the kitchen with those silver-ish brackets. Had an antique brass long-arm three-light kit. Was noisy as hell due to bad bearings. She used it heavily, regardless. Was wired so fan was controlled by pullchain-only and the light was on a wall-dimmer. Fan started to sag and become crooked. At a young age I took it down and the box was falling of the criling because the rafter it was attached to was dry-rotting. The kitchen was a 1930's addition. I swear the floor sloped 20 degrees. When the roof and rafters were fixed, she had me install a Hampton Bay Cameron with a spot-light kit. Union got trashed. Between the bad bearings and a million years of grease (no exhaust in the kitchen), there was no saving it. Forgot about that fan until seeing this post.
