Anyone have any car buying stories they want to share?

I have owned a 2002 Explorer Sport Trac, 1989 Lincoln Town Car, 1997 Crown Victoria(x2) and a 2003 Lincoln Town Car, all in the span of 2.5 years. I flock to beaters, especially Panther Platform Fords. lol

The Panthers have quite a following. Its kind of like Toyota Tacomas and Subaru's once someone gets one they are loyal to them forever!

Pickups are they way to go IMO!
The truck I was buying fell through. The dealer that I was purchasing it from called the dealer that had the truck and they sold it the night before. Just my luck but like anything that is materialistic there is another one out there. It gives me more time to think if I can find a leftover 2015 Tacoma. Those Subarus are so reliable but I never have been in one lol.

Its annoying but it eventually goes through lol

I'm keeping my current one and would really like a Wrangler Unlimited but I know I'd end up trading it on a truck after like six months. When my fiancee needs a new car I'm trying to push her into a Wrangler but its gonna be tough. She'd have to get in one. Neither of our cars will ever go off road so I hate getting it for the off road image it gives but she loves square cars. They are fun to drive and I love that you can take off the top.

Its seldom that I use mine off-road, however on the few occasions its been good.. If you live in an area that gets snow, you sure will appreciate it then.. I've been able to get through immense amounts of snow while other people are crashing off the roads left and right.. Just today happened to be one of those days.. Eventually I'd like to start a landscaping business, at which point I'd need a truck of some sort, but by that time hopefully I'll be able to afford two vehicles.. With the distance I have to get to work, I can't fathom driving a huge truck all the time..

That Jeep pickup will be out in two years but of course if you're doing landscaping you're gonna want a full size... If your a complete Chrysler guy the RAM would be your choice. Personally I would recommend a Silverado 2500!

Personally I would recommend a Silverado 2500! I have lost Chrysler loyalty when they released the latest revisions of the Cherokee (if you can even call it that)..
My grandfather has a Silverado.. he's had it for quite some time, seems like a decent vehicle..
I'd probably get something used and somewhat junky for a work-related purpose.. I'd hate to get something brand new and have it get all junked up real fast.. Doesn't seem like a good investment, it would devalue too quickly..

I don't know anyone personally with bad luck in Silverados/Sierras.
I agree get something reliable and at a good price in that line of work. Goodness knows its going to get scratched up and so forth hauling, towing, etc.
It amazes me some of the vehicles I see construction and other businesses driving around in $65,000 F-250s and all.

I had a pretty good experience finding my car. The dealer was easy to deal with and I felt like I got a good deal. I have almost 100,000 miles on my car now and am planning to keep it for longer, but I would like to have something with more space. I'm thinking of getting a minivan in the future or maybe a bigger car like a Ford Taurus. A truck would be nice but they all seem really expensive and I only really like crew cabs or at least extended cabs which make them even more expensive.
I haven't and don't think I would ever buy a brand new car though. But it seems you can't save much with used cars these days.
