Is the remote you have newer or older? Yeah Casablanca remotes are decent, they usually work. I just use the remote with my Coastal Breeze because it's really only the light button that you have to press twice. Luckily that's the only issue it has, other than that it's not bad. But Hampton Bay remotes... Forget it they are impossible. I wouldn't either, I prefer to be behind the wheel controlling the car myself. The only electronic thing I'll use in my car is the auxiliary cable, which is nice and simple. Exactly, that's the problem with technology, it's great and all but too much of it is not so great. If you ask me, technology like that will just cost you more money because you have to constantly get things fixed. It was from the early-mid 2000s.. I still have it, but it has not been used in many years. not sure if it even works still.. I've had pretty good results with my Casablanca remote..
Same thing here, the only electronic thing I have in my vehicle is the audio equipment..
In regards to their post early-2000's models, it has been years. If they acquire the common sense necessary to include a motor larger than 153X15 for a 52" fan with extra-wide blades however, that would be satisfactory. Common sense is a thing o' the past!
Although I am in agreement regarding the everlasting presence of traditional fans on the market, such styles are definitely fading (rather quickly too) up here. Traditional homes and, as a result, décor are no longer "fashionable" in many parts of Canada. Hopefully down in the US, you guys manage to preserve this for years to come. Off hand, I can think of the Brookhurst, Landmark 3 or whatever number it is, and some other generic Hampton Bay fans.. but that's about it.. Unfortunately they're fading fast from the market here too..

Even though the Landmark 500 (what the numbers should be sense there were so many different models named Landmark) is traditional, it looks very cheap. I never bought one that wasn't by SMC, so I have no clue what these perform like, but they don't seem to be very good on quality. Kind of like the newest Littleton, looks very cheap.

I don't mind the appearance of the Landmark XXX.. but it is in terms of quality a very, very cheap fan.. The Littleton has been somewhat uglified over the years..

Like the SMC ones looked better in my opinion. Oh boy has it ever! I like the older ones, not the ones that look like those Aloha Breeze knockoffs of it. The motor housing is much too small on the newest Littletons. I miss the good old Hampton Bay's like the Raleigh I.

I miss those days also, back when they had the Hampton Bay stickers on the switch housing and the fans themselves were actually of a reasonable quality build..

Common sense is a thing o' the past! In regards to Hunter, you are correct, sadly. Off hand, I can think of the Brookhurst, Landmark 3 or whatever number it is, and some other generic Hampton Bay fans.. but that's about it.. Unfortunately they're fading fast from the market here too.. Home Depot Canada discontinued the Hampton Bay Landmark III/Plus years ago. Same applies with the Carriage House II in polished brass. Canarm still offers traditional fans, albeit an ever-decreasing amount. Few of them are polished or even antique brass anymore. I will likely create a thread regarding traditional fans sold today, as not to derail this one any further

I really hope someday it goes back to that. If it ever did happen it would probably be a LONG time from now that's for sure. I wonder if the Raleigh II was the same quality as the I. I've only seen 1 picture of a II and never seen it run. Do you know who makes the Raleigh I?

On HD Supply they sell the Brookhurst/Huntington I in polished brass and I think antique brass too. They also sell the old four bladed Landmark. Only problem is they're not labeled Hampton Bay, but other than that they're the same.

Doesn't Canada still sell a number of traditional styled spinner ceiling fans? Spinners are gone here,, except for industrials..

i wish emerson signed up for this idea since their fans today are above hunter on quality level imo I would agree that Emerson is way above Hunter in quality..and maybe some of it has to do with the fact that they're still using basic types of controls and putting more money into the motor in the fans..
