I like the Carousel I because I had one in my bedroom when I was little. My parents always put the 7.5 watt night light bulbs in the spotlight kit.

Does anyone know where I can buy the Carousel 1 new or used? I've seen a lot on eBay, only problem is they're incredibly over priced. But if you really want one, keep checking eBay, they show up quite frequently. |

They pop up on Craigslist used quite frequently along with the Hunter Baseball Fan in my neck of the woods.
Personally I like the Carousel I the best because it looks like a traditional fan and was popular during my childhood. The Carousel II was an interesting concept as they provided the white/bleached oak blades with it so that parents could switch out the blades when the kids were ready for a more "grown up" look. I wonder how many people actually did this along with the amount of people who didn't just throw them out and end up buying a new fan when it was time for a more grown up look anyway.

Probably wasn't utilized, people just love throwing out the box for the fan. I couldn't see an extra pair of blades being any different. I actually did utilize the blade set though, I have a Carousel II in my house, I changed the blades over from the color to the white. I'm thinking about replacing it with a Hunter Original eventually though. I like the Carousel II is cool and all, but c'mon you can't compete with an Original. |

Its kind of the general thing with fan collectors I've observed. You start off with your collection and slowly phase in higher end fans because you learn more and then once you own one see the true difference. Then you continue to collect high end, rare, and sentimental stuff and the "general fans" don't get collected anymore.
I know thats how it was for me once I got my first Panama and I've observed it with many other collectors reading on both forums.

Yeah I remember a few years ago that's how I was, once you see for yourself the quality a ceiling fan can have, you don't want to settle for something that's not as good of quality. I still kind of like general fans, but I don't like modern fans very much, I like the older traditional kinds. |

I know what you mean.
I had bought a Harbor Breeze Classic in Polished Brass when I was 15. Loved that fan because I loved the styling. Then I started going Casa, Hunter, and Vintage crazy and that fan left my ownership.
I truly regret that I wish I still had it though cause it had somewhat sentimental value being one of the first fans I bought even if it wasn't the best.
I've realized just because its not in your actual house you can still have it in your collection even if its not the best because its what you like. I wish I learned that before because I'd still have some of my other fans.

Other than that I don't really pay attention to it, there's no need. I'm caught up in vintage Hunters lol. I've always loved vintage Hunters though, even when I was younger, I just didn't have the money for them. |

To be honest I'm not quite sure of a fan that has ever beat an Original (the older ones of course). Sure there are fans out there that are good quality, but the motors in Originals, I just don't see a competitor. |
