Hi,
I don't know anything about ceiling fans, but we just purchased a brand new home that strangely has no ceiling fans (in south Texas!), but all the rooms are pre-wired for them. So, I've been shopping for fans, and Craigslist has become my friend.
I bought a Hampton Bay Tiffany Cardinal Fan that I need new fan blade arms for. They are bronze.
Do you know where I can find them? Also, I am looking for instructions or where to find them. I need to change the upper light and can't figure out how to do that.
I purchased this fan used, and it's a gorgeous fan. I am attaching a photo of it that I took, along with a photo of it in the catalog (found it here on this forum).
All it came with is what is shown in the photo, plus the tulip light shades. Is there anything else I will need to hang it, like wires, or a hanging kit of some sort?
Thanks so much for any help you can offer!

Thanks! I think I'm going to have to just find something similar that will look good. If you have or know of where I could get any that are ornamental/nice looking, in bronze, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hello LuLu. By what I am seeing in the picture you provided, one of the blade brackets is notably bent. If so, the current set can be salvaged so long as that effected bracket is not cracked. The manual for this fan cannot be located (from what I have found), however the upper-housing bulbs can still be replaced. From my experience, there will typically be several "panels" protecting the bulbs. These are held in with a few screws each. Inside, there will be a small light string (much like a set of Christmas lights). On Hampton Bay fans of this type, the maximum bulb wattage is usually 15-watts. Here is an appropriate replacement bulb. You would not likely require any additional mounting kits, provided that all parts are included with the fan and the junction boxes installed in the ceiling are fan rated.
If you have or know of where I could get any that are ornamental/nice looking, in bronze, I would appreciate it. Thanks. As with many other items, ceiling fans have (for the most part) greatly decreased in quality over the years. A model that looks solid may actually be unreliable and made from the cheapest possible materials. When it comes to ceiling fans, going for the least expensive option is simply not worth it in the long run. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find quality fans, however there are several companies that still continue to produce a decent product. Two notable examples are Fanimation and Emerson. However, their fans are remarkably more expensive compared to many others (though this isn't so say that they aren't worth the price). If affordability is a key factor for you, I would go with an industry classic - the Casablanca Panama (currently on clearance). The least expensive option is approximately $200.00 total, which is far less than regular price. Below are some links to several combinations offered for the Panama fan: www.hansenwholesale.com/ceilingfans/casablanca/model.asp?ProdNo=6632Gwww.hansenwholesale.com/ceilingfans/casablanca/model.asp?ProdNo=6688Gwww.hansenwholesale.com/ceilingfans/casablanca/model.asp?ProdNo=6632G-B515www.hansenwholesale.com/ceilingfans/casablanca/model.asp?ProdNo=6632Zwww.hansenwholesale.com/ceilingfans/casablanca/model.asp?ProdNo=6632Z-B515I hope this helps you, Max

Max, thank you so much for your answer! I'm in the process of moving, so my computer time is limited. I'm about to be without regular Internet for a week (yikes!). Please forgive my delayed response. My husband tried to bend the arm back, and it cracked. So, I will just have to try to find something comparable (proper size, that will look decent) to replace the arms with. On the bright side, I'll have these three available for anyone looking for these impossible to find fan blade arms. Our house was just built, and the rooms are all pre-wired for fans, with braces installed. I'm going to have an electrician do the installation. I will check out the links you posted, because I'm still looking for a fan for the living room and two other bedrooms. It's a shame that quality in most me fans is so poor. This fan was made in 2000, but it seems to be good quality.

No problem at all My husband tried to bend the arm back, and it cracked. I feel you're pain! That has happened to me in the past. If subjected to enough force, most brackets break easily. At this point, it might be time to seek another fan due to the obscurity of this part. Our house was just built, and the rooms are all pre-wired for fans, with braces installed. I'm going to have an electrician do the installation. That is definitely an excellent start. It's a shame that quality in most fans is so poor. This fan was made in 2000, but it seems to be good quality. Although some may disagree with me on this, I'd say Hampton Bay's higher-end models are decent fans. The Tiffany Cardinal would fit into this category.

Oh thats a shame the blade bracket broke, Hopefully you can find replacements around the same size. Since not all ceiling fan blade brackets have the same size motor-to-bracket base, you might need to take measurements before you buy a replacement bracket. And here is a picture below of blade bracket measurements I assume you live near Corpus Christi if south texas? (I am located in Houston) I found a fan with brackets close enough to the fan you have, but sadly its in San Antonio. sanantonio.craigslist.org/hsh/5270011236.htmlYou can install this fan without a manual from this exact fan, you mainly need to know which wires go to which. White, Black, Blue wires Green(Ground wire) Those are the colors on an average fan. Also to note, there are many guides on installing fans in the internet, some made by professional electricians This is a good guide down here: Start around 2:19 if your house already has a ceiling fan rated junction box. This is another good video too I hope this helps!

That was a lucky sighting. I also discovered that the Hampton Bay Sonoma also uses this type of brackets, however the fans you posted are far closer in terms of finish.

I would contact the manufacturer and see if they have replacements. If they dont, finding something that will fit will be a long shot.

Thank you so much for your help, with the measurements and installation information. You have been so helpful, I am so grateful. Thank you.

I have contacted them, and they said that they have no information or parts because the fan is so old. Now that is interesting. I would have thought that Air Cool (the manufacturer of this fan) would keep records of their fans longer than that. Upon further research, Tal-USA (Air Cool's support site) actually lists a model called the "Sonoma" which uses the exact same type of blade brackets. However the finish is not 100% identical to your fan. Not to mention, the fans Brian posted a link to are hard to resist for the price (typically sellers ask more than $100.00 per fan)! Here is a picture:
