I should have seen this coming. Almost all the time I post a picture of a portable fan, I get the comment about the grills.
No it does not decrease the performance of the fan.

Here is my little Windmere I got in 1993.  I also have one of the 6" oscillators from the late 90s, I got at the dollar store. |

I have the exact same gray and white one! I'm also getting a brown and faux wood control paneled. Cool Breeze 12" from a friend
