I love those Originals in a Hawaiian resort lobby in the first few pics in your last post! They also had some Casa Panamas back in the day. As far as I know, the hotel was damaged by a hurricane in I believe the 80s or 90s.

I like those Abandoned high schools... I would love to go into a abandoned building like that... Those rounded light fixtures that have a bulb in the middle are form the 60s.. My old high school still had one in the closet of one of the classrooms when I was going to high school.. And I remember looking at an old yearbooks of my school, those were installed in every classroom up until 1985 when they removed that old asbestos drop ceiling from every classroom and installed more update drop ceiling panels with 2X4 troffer light fixture.. Then of course the early 2000s came and they replaced the campus with a completely new school in place of the old one.. I know I'm bringing up an old thread.. Attachment Deleted

Amazing install of Hunter Originals in an abandoned school auditorium!
These are from the same school, located in classrooms (I think that's what they are). I think they may be the same Originals that are in the auditorium.
Wow they're actually not in bad shape. I wish more schools like this existed. Usually schools only have ceiling fans in the cafeterias. NEVER any in the classrooms, which is a real shame. Did you take these pictures?

Ah yes, the first two are of The Coco Palms Resort, the place became abandoned because of a hurricane or some sort of bad storm, the owners didn't have enough money to fix the place up, and as the economy got worse it only got harder to fix the place, so it's been abandoned ever since. It's quite a shame, they had those Hunter Originals, some Casablanca's, and some unknown brand ceiling fans. I have pictures of those last 2 somewhere, I'll have to look. Here are some pictures of the lobby before it was abandoned. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedYou can see the Hunter Originals in action. The Resort actually caught on fire while it was abandoned, the cause of the fire no one really knows for sure. But what I can say is the lobby is in much worse condition now. In fact I'm pretty sure they're taring the place down soon if they haven't already. It's unfortunately another waste of what were once perfectly good ceiling fans.

What a shame it got abandoned,, so much beautiful architecture seems to be meeting that fate more and more now..

Did you take these pictures? They are in pretty good condition,, but the whole auditorium isn't all that bad either.. My aunt teaches at a school which has ceiling fans in the classrooms.. However it is pretty uncommon.. I did not take the pictures,, as much as I'd like to go there and take more.. They came from a website, however I do not recall which one..

It was a very amazing place. The staff was amazing, they loved working there, and you could tell by the way they were with everyone. Celebrities stayed there often, tons of weddings took place there, as well as a movie was even filmed there. The name of the movie I can't remember. It was a great Resort, it really pains me to see it the condition it is today, they had a gorgeous giant shell (Don't know if it was in the front of the Resort or in the back that led to all the extra activities you could do there) but when the resort caught on fire the supports holding the shell broke, so it fell and shattered. There were a lot more than the ceiling fans that made this an awesome place. It's really a shame this happened to it, I wish better for it in the future, if it's not torn down already that is. I found a few more pictures of what it used to look like. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedIt truly was a beautiful place. As for the fans in the school, I really wish we knew where this place was, I'd be taking these fans if I ever found out where it was lol, I can't let amazing vintage fans go down with a building like that. The blades aren't even drooping, given the conditions, I'd say they're in great shape. I'll try finding the website later. As for schools I think they should all have ceiling fans in the classrooms, not just because I like fans, but because most schools don't even have air conditioning, the least they could do is install some fans.

More and more of the schools around here are getting air conditioning, so ceiling fans will never happen,, even portable fans are phasing out.. The high school I worked at had a few portable fans that circulated throught the building, but the whole thing had air conditioning..
I believe I downloaded the pictures off the site that they came from and I'm hosting them myself (in case they ever got removed), so you probably won't be able to trace the site back using the name of the image unfortunately..

Even with air conditioning, fans can still circulate the air. It's unfortunate not many people know this. Seems like ceiling fans have gone out of style in public places. I just hope it never reaches the point to where ceiling fans are no longer being made. Granted this wouldn't happen for a long while if it were ever going to happen. The site these pictures were on seems to no longer exist. All I was able to find out was it's an Elementary school, but that's irrelevant.

It was quite a while ago that I found these images, so I wouldn't be surprised if some of the sites are no longer around.. People don't care about air circulation anymore,, they just want it to be cool.. And that's what the air conditioning does, so ceiling fans are certainly a thing of the past now..

But if you think about it, it's not entirely a bad thing, that just means more fans for us because people will be doing away with theirs. Besides ceiling fans are still on the market, therefor people are still buying them.

I hate people wasting perfectly good fans by tossing them.

A ceiling fan in an air vent? That's a first.

Man, abandoned stuff just creeps me the hell out. I get this feeling as if I had seen these people and the building intact and running. Now it just looks like everyone died and so did the buildings. Same.
