Nice! Is that an adapter on the flywheel for 5 blades? That's gotta be one of the earliest 5 bladed Zephyrs around. Can you take a pic of the flywheel when you get a chance?

It's awesome to finally see it put together! And, yes, this is the earliest 5 blade Zephyr, and probably the earliest post-1950s 5 blade fan besides the Panama.

The Panama introduced the 5 bladed fan into the industry. That's why I didn't say the Zephyr was THE first 5-bladed Casa, 'cause it wasn't.

There were 5 bladed fans before the Panama. Not many, but they existed.

Casablanca played that up in its literature, but they were incorrect. There's that weird drum-looking thing that has surfaced a couple of times, and Emerson had a very early model with a huge ornate motor housing and tiny blades.

Dont forget the deco R&M with the fluorescent light. From the 40s I think.

Isn't that the "drum looking thing" I was talking about?

Might be, I'm not sure what you're referring to.

Metal greenish gray looking housing (if I remember right), top mounted arch tip blades.

Top mounted and arch end sounds right, the rest doesnt.
I think there was at least one other antique 5 blader.

Awesome! I wasn't sure if such a fan like the older chunky four bladed only models existed with five blades. It's quite surprising that it was made at the same time as the more popular four bladed equivalent.
1981 is the first year of the Hang-Tru too.
I'm curious about how the blade mount too. Is it an adaptor or it's an actual five bladed flywheel? It looks like there's an adaptor.

It's an adapter.. The Caribbean Electrics and the chunky Moss Heirloom I have are still my favorite when it comes to Chunky five blade GE vent ceiling fans..
