Well then, to use a wall control you would have to run a new wire through the attic. If you don't want to do that, I would normally recommend using a remote, but considering how much IT boards were lost, a remote would likely get fried.
If you don't want to run that extra wire, you'd have to covert the fan to 3 speed, which is challenging and requires prior knowledge, or just replace the whole fan.
Since this fan is close to the ceiling, and an Original cant be flush mounted, I would just either buy a Gulf Coast Dixie Belle or Riviera and flush mount it, or buy a vintage 3 speed casablanca from Dan (since he has a ton for sale).

My advice would be to convert to Intellitouch3 by buying the kit from Casablanca.

Confirmed that Casablanca does not carry the pre 1985 update conversion kit. Recommendation who does?
Lowes's sale has no inventory on Hunter Original.

If I already stated that I do not care if the lights work, the above statement sounds that I still need the extra wire to convert my old fan to a 3 speed. Why???
Continued thanks

Not everyone posting knows what they are talking about.
If you dont need the lights and are OK using a conventional 3 speed wall control, I can walk you through the conversion. Do you have an ohm meter?

Stumbled across Fan Man Lighting on my own and ordered the same kit but with the wall switch. This kit much more reasonable than the one that I found earlier for $300.00.
Thanks everyone for the help
Oh, I'm now very sure why the previous boards went bad: My wife changed the light bulbs while the lighting was on that caused a surge into the boards. Talked to a gentleman that changed many boards on these fans in their hay day. Casablanca knew of this problem but never updated these boards and did not make mention in their instructions that this would cause the board to have operational problems.

That can happen with any electronic control, even a dimmer switch. It creates a small power surge.
