Mine is most likely black and gold (or brass), white and gold, or glossy black. As for blades, I would have to say that they would either be glossy black, white, or light oak (but only if the motor housing was white).

On the old r52s and type 52s I love the chrome and a good polished brass on a moss!

There are way too many to mention, so for the sake of simplicity, I'm going to put this into five specific lists.
Favorite Individual Finishes:
1. Brushed nickel.
2. Polished brass.
3. Verde green.
4. Various "off white", cream or almond finishes.
5. Light blue.
6. Antique brass.
7. Black (gloss or matte).
8. Textured white or cream.
9. Chrome.
10. Brushed copper.
Least favorite Individual Finishes:
1. Pink.
2. Gray.
3. Orange.
4. Most "wooden" motor finishes besides those on fans with actual wood on the motor housing.
5. Yellow.
6. Purple.
Favorite Finish Combinations:
1. Black and chrome.
2. White and polished brass.
3. "Off white", cream or almond and polished brass.
4. Black and polished brass.
5. Pewter and chrome.
6. Verde green and antique brass.
7. Brown and antique brass.
8. Antique and polished brass.
9. Pink/rose and polished brass.
10. White and brushed nickel.
Least Favorite Finish Combinations:
1. Blue and white.
2. Most multicolor fans.
3. Southwestern style fans (usually in combinations like light brown and green).
Others That I like, But Didn't Make Their Way into The Top 10's:
2. Verde Green and textured white.
2. Oil rubbed bronze.
3. White and chrome.

Chrome. Or Emerson's Greystone, I have a major thing for that finish.
More universally though I love black on just about anything and AB has always really been one of my absolute favorite finishes.
I also like the rare combination of white/brushed nickel. Particularly on the Hunter Paramount XP I think it looks really nice. Hate it on the Hampton Bay Tripoli though, just because I really dislike those fans.

I like chrome specifically with mahogany blades with cane inserts or stencil. Brushed nickel, the same way.

Do some models look better in certain finishes or something? Yup... I was referring to old chunky GE Vent fans with those finish combinations.. Top 4 I really like, Brass I do like, but top 4 better.. White I don't care for on GE Vents.. Old spinners, it really doesn't matter.. I like the common white and dark brown finishes.. But I also like less common brass, AB or any other finish or combination.. Fascos tend to look great in all finishes, in my opinion.. Even with White and Brass combination.. |
