I stripped the original finish with Acetone paint thinner and refinished with Minwax Polyshades polyurethane.. I must have stripped and refinished each blade about 5 times until I was satisfied and error free.. But still the top side of one blade is not the greatest and has some residue of polyurethane from the dry brush and has some dark blotches. I was already over it...
Had to do one side at a time and let dry and do the flip side.. It's very time consuming and if you screw up, you have to remove with paint thinner and do over again, and you have to use the paint thinner again to remove anything that dripped over on to the unfinished side and a couple of times where I screwed up the perfectly finished side..

Yeah, there's nothing I don't love about this fan.
It was Hang-Tru that was recalled, I don't know what that person would be talking about regarding this mounting.

It definitely looks epic and you did an awesome job refinishing the blades!

That looks amazing! I like how the blades almost have a satin finish to them.

Gorgeous! It seems to operate like a charm too. Now that I see it in motion, I actually like this blade finish with the chrome. I still prefer white blades for a chrome fan particularly an 1970-1980's chrome fan.
