Has been added to the Encon and Taiwan galleries...
Oddly this thing is made in Taiwan but yet the motor is very similar to a Crompton Greaves...

Is it as fast as a regular CG? I'd be curious to see a video...

That's very cool! Theses are rare. I remember seeing these NIB in polished brass on eBay. I'm pretty sure it's a mixture of Taiwanese and Indian parts. It's just the switch housing and the upper canopy that would be made in Taiwan. The rest looks like the regular Indian parts. It's interesting how the bottom of the motor is textured.
I'm curious about the speeds too.

I'd say it's close to what a regular Crompton Greaves goes.. Video is on the way..

Was that part of the motor sort of textured on the brass ones too? I seem to remember that but maybe not. As I said in the other thread, I love these!

From what I see in this pic.. It looks like it.. I don't even know why they added the lower canopy.. There's nothing to hide, and the down rod connector is nothing to really hide either..

I would have liked it better without a lower canopy but with a bell canopy for the upper canopy instead.
A lower canopy and switch housing at the same time often feels overwhelming.
According to the pictures on the box, they really had it without a lower canopy it seems.

I would prefer it with lower canopy AND bell canopy.

I noticed that too... Quite odd how the ones pictured don't have a lower canopy..
As Dan said It would look a lot better with Bell Canopy, Crompton Greaves one.. I don't think I've ever seen a combination with switch housing and lower canopy being bracket mounted..

I love it, but if I ever hang mine, I hope I can find a bell canopy for it.

I love it, but if I ever hang mine, I hope I can find a bell canopy for it. If there's nothing to hide under the bottom canopy, just flip it and use it as a top canopy. That would be cool to see.

I do NOT like spinners with no lower canopy.
