I've seen one of these things before.. in no place other than a Wal-Mart. I believe either Jean or Tais mentioned somewhere that these were made by MIE, which seems to be an obscure Indian company.

Humm it's cool that you took a video of it. It looks nice spinning slowly like that. You really believe that knob mounted horizontally is for the fan? It is made by MIE in India. This with the switch housing must have been a special version for the United States. I did not saw this on their website when they still had one. They had the equivalent without the switch housing though. It seems they don't make fans anymore. Once someone posted a craigslist link to a one of them. I believe it was in Texas. John Reed have a MIE but without switch housing.

I dont believe the Texas ones were labeled MIE . . . I would have bought one if they were cheaper.

At least some of these constitute the coolest sighting videos I have posted yet, and some of my favorite sightings overall:

Love the fact that your area still has these old 70s and 80s ceiling fans installed.. I really can't think I many places around here that have neat old fans.. I'd defiantly keep an eye out on those Emerson Blenderfans.. I love those Hunter Comfort Breezes too, especially that finish...
