Looks like proboards did a major upgrade... I really don't know what to think about this.. Seems hard to navigate now.. I guess it will take to getting use too.. How is it for everyone else? Like it better than before or the old?

I like the old design better, I think we should think about getting a new host.

I've said this before a long time ago, when I wanted to switch to vbulliten.. Now the vbulliten forum seems easier to navigate.. It's not up to me, it's up to the members..

i am used to the old one.. there is now a mobile version of this forum and it looks different! if it is possible, try to change the theme of the mobile version to match the desktop version
some points i would point out for improvement:
for those who don't have the avatar, i prefer it to have no pic than the one currently shown the text box when creating a new post or replying (not quick reply) is the same color as the board foreground and no borders are there, if its possible to change it to white it would be great is its possible to remove the "stories from around the web" it would be better
a little tweaks here and there would be great! the forum looks different without the SMC laguna banner
i think u can take help from proboards for fixing the stuff in the forum

There is no conversion software or anything.. I tried this before..

Just preserve this forum as display only, prior to switching over.

That's what I originally was going to do, I was going to close this one and have it as display only... I have the banner up and it makes it looks a hell of alot better..

It'll just take getting used to. The layout feels really busy to me, like it's hard to look at, but other than that it'll be okay. People said before that they didn't want a new host, now there's all this talk. I don't care one way or another, but we have an amazing archive on this site that makes me wonder if it's even worth the switch. I mean we'll all get used to it eventually...

Yeah, if it was my forum, I would lock this forum and switch to vBulletin.

Not a big fan of the new layout...seems slower, and like Cole said, it is harder to look at. I do like that my avatar picture is bigger, and the YouTube videos show up much larger when embedded.
Now, if we didn't have a ten-year-old archive, I'd say we should switch hosts. There are some better ones out there, some much faster and easier to navigate. But we have such a high-quality archive...there's boatloads of fan information on here that would be harder to track down if we close this board. Even if we switch and leave the existing board as read-only, I think members wouldn't be nearly as likely to look through it once a new board exists. People will just use the new board, and topics may be unintentionally repeated by members who haven't seen the read-only archive.
So yeah, my vote would be to stay put. We'll get used to this layout after a while.

I will pretty much repeat what Cole and Rick wrote. At first I did not like it. I found it hard to look at as if they are too many things to look at at the same time. It's only been two days and it seems I'm already getting used to it. I found out that they are some positive points about it like Rick pointed out. The place where we write is bigger, the avatars are bigger and embedded videos shows a little bigger. I would not want to lose all the other posts accumulated since 2003 just for a new layout.

It's indeed strange. I agree with others, a new host would be nice. It's just like iTunes 11, Flickr, and youtube (cosmic panda, one channel). Why ruin something you had that was good? I thought the old style was good, but vbulletin is better than this. It's quite tricky and time consuming to navigate
