Whoa! I guess they were pretty expensive back in the day. I wonder how much they would cost now. Not really, keep in might this was during the birth of the "ceiling fan craze" and before cheap import fans took over the market. American made fans are expensive to produce as it is, and at this time the companies could still afford huge markups and sell them in large numbers. Even those crappy Friction Drive Emersons went for around $200 at this time. Fans were expensive then. And, really, American made fans (while we had 'em) were just as expensive today.
