I also noticed on the parts diagram that they point out the sticker on the capacitor cover (which is how I could tell that part rotated when I saw the fan running many years ago.) Is this the KDK sicker, or what does it say? I'm going to try to "police sketch" the modedl with the fancy blades based off the pic of this model. Hopefully I'll have it up soon. Mine doesnt have that sticker, even though it is mentioned in the manual.

I got pics of the Royalaire in Bend this afternoon, with the unusual blades. It's pretty much exactly how I remember it, orange pull included :-) I'll have them up on the group later this week.

Pics are up... notice you almost have to strain to see the point on the blade.
There must have been more than one in the store at one point. There was a 5-blade SMC in there, with what looked like a brown Royalaire canopy sticking out of the ceiling (it's been redone.) The existing Royalaire, oddly, had no canopy at all, and a broken light kit. Although it's not that evident in the picture, the blades are warped pretty badly.

Those blades arent wood, they're a composite similar to the blenderfan blades.

Maybe so... but the fan was covered in dust when I took the pic. That might be what you're seeing...
