An elementary school got renovated this past summer. Here are some lights that I got: I got four of these, only one shown. They were installed in the utility rooms. An interesting feature is, you don't have to twist the bulbs to insert them!   Lastly, I got 1 of the 16 gymnasium wall fixtures. It's currently installed in the storage space behind my bedroom.

My high school had similar fluorescent lights too! Except they were from about 1969. They had the thin lights in the hallway, from looking at old yearbooks. However they were ripped out before I was born. The last of them were hanging in a conference room, but last year maintenance came by, removed them, and put in lame, newer fixtures. They were the wider type like yours, except they were pendant hung.

I doubt it, all the lights had the exact same ballasts.

I doubt it, all the lights had the exact same ballasts. You're probably right...looking at the pictures again, it looks like the frame for each one is the same; the oddball fixture looks like it just has some added guards around the two ends.
