I dont like brass motors with white blades, myself. White blades go with white motors. Wood blades with brass. White blades with brass/white motors is acceptable in some situations. Wood blades with brass/white motors is a stretch.

I don't like white with antique brass either. Antique white with antique brass, maybe. I'd get the fans simply because they're a fan I've been looking for for years.
Jean, the four and five blade fans are the same size. Also, most (if not all) of the old Decoratives had four blades. They also had lousy capacitors - I don't think I've ever seen one not slow down over a short period of time with repeated use.

I see why Jean said the 5 blade looks bigger.
As I said, I definitely think you should get the 5 blade one if not both.

Went back today, though I forgot to take the camera so I couldn't get pictures (I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow). The 1895 was four-speed, but someone has either cut the pullchain off or it snapped. Not that we weren't short on four-speed pullchains as it was.

I guess you'll have to omit one speed and make it three.

How much do they want for the white Montgomery Ward spinner with the light kit in one of those pictures and is it damaged in any way?

The blades have what appears to be minor water damage. I put a $15 price tag on it today. The control box is not included.

Anyone recognize the brand of this Emperor bracket? The blades are standard pointed tip cane. KDK blades - waiting on a paycheck... these were CAKED in dust and when I finally got one or two cleaned off they appear to have a BEAUTIFUL medium oak finish to them. I've never seen KDK blades this light - maybe they made an all brass finish Royalaire? I'd think they'd clash with a brown/brass. I've started a "bracket shelf" opposite the blade shelf, for all the extra brackets we had lying around: OK, here's possibly the weirdest fan-related thing I've EVER seen. This bracket is entirely made out of molded blue plastic (in fact, it has some plastic company's name imprinted on the back - I forgot to get a pic of it). Then there was some "polished brass" finish applied to it. The plastic is really flimsy... I don't see how it could even hold a blade. Anyone have any ideas? The bracket shape, oddly enough, looks like a Hunter design! I've started tagging the fans with information such as speed, reverse, light, etc. Finally, some non-ornate small CG brackets (like the ones my grandmother had in her old house). There are two of these fans, both 1050mm or 42". I put a working light kit on the Moss spinner: The fans that don't get hung are cratewrapped. You might notice a Zephyr and the motor of another, a Tatung spinner, a Toastmaster arch-end spinner (there are two, there were three but one of them had messed up wiring and was thrown out - we still have the blades). Also note that we have way, way, way, way too many Craftmades. The Zephyr is in pristine condition and will be mine if it doesn't sell by payday! The cream-colored ornate thing in one of the pictures sold today: The polished brass Tatung Emperor flush mount thing The Casablanca Classic, now with a light kit instead of exposed wires. It's K55, but doesn't reverse - I thought all of these reversed? Toward the end of the day I uncovered an ancient bright brass Studio Series with an isolation ring: Hunter Mayfair: The now organized blade shelf. Note in the upper left hand corner there are AT LEAST 25 sets of 42" blades (and there were upwards of 40 sets before I threw a bunch out); oddly enough, no one knows where all the fans they went to went. The careful observer will note some ornate Codep blades on the bottom shelf - it's becoming my "specialty blades" section, of sorts. Another shot of the overhead fans - note I have added several, and I took this picture before hanging the Mayfair, the Studio Series, and an additional 44" Coastal Breeze: That's all for now... with the exception of a few huggers (which will probably be a pain in the butt), the project is nearing completion... at least until a new shipment of fans arrives.

All Emperor brackets look the same to me.
Those KDK blades are REALLY NICE.
The plastic bracket could be from a magazine order fan.
I still want the Patton.
I also like all of the Crompton Greaves, the Zephyrs, the Casablanca Classic, the Monty Ward, and probably a lot of the blades.
Some very nice fans at your store. And you're doing great work. it's a pain and time consuming, isnt it? But rewarding.

Wow, very nice work Jon. It's certainly more organized than what it started out as.

I've repaired many pullchains, because I am cheap. You have to be VERY CAREFUL when opening the casing.
