Here is a 4/5 blade Hunter Original ceiling fan in Global Food in Ashburn, Va. There are I believe 12 of these in the checkout area. They were installed around 1997 when the store was originally a Super Fresh. And here is a not so good video I made of them. I'll make a better one the next time I'm over there.

Cool install, not my first choice for the application, but it seems they were common over checkouts for awhile.

Sweet! There was a SuperFresh near me that had about 12 of these (6 in 2 rows) over the checkout with 3" or 6" down rods on a high ceiling, plus 2 of the same type of Originals over the salad bar on 72" down rods. The pull chains on the salad bar fans were touching the top of the salad bar! The checkout CF's hardly moved any air, and weren't effective. Unfortunately, the store closed, and said fans were removed. I e-mailed the new owners of the store to try to get the fans, and they said that "demolition was left up to the property owner, and SuperFresh just rented the property". They also said "nothing was left on the property" when the person who replied to my e-mail went to visit the property.
Also, there was another SuperFresh in Ocean City, MD (closed now, I believe) that had a single AB Fasco GEV 52" 4B on a 72" down rod over the salad bar, and a 4B Hunter 52" Summer Breeze in White, a 52" White/PB Heritage 52" GEV, and a 4B 52" Hunter Classic Original in the bakery and deli areas. IDK what happened to the CF's, but the deli and bakery CF's were really messed up.
Another SuperFresh had a single AB Fasco GEV 52" 4B on a 72" down rod over the salad bar. That SuperFresh is still open.

This sort of install is where my white originals came from, in case anyone ever wondered.

I went back today to remake the video of them, since the first two times I was using a crappy camera. I was NOT expecting to see this today: I apologize for the crappy pic, my Flip is all I had with me. It takes decent videos but just crappy video stills.

The owner better replace the blade arms or change it to 4 blades instead of taking it down.

The owner better replace the blade arms instead of taking it down. I'll do my best to keep an eye on the place if they decide to replace the entire fan.

Sorry, rarely find time to post here anymore. I had a SuperFresh near me, had seven White, 5-blade Originals on two inch downrods over the checkout lanes (all different speeds and directions), two in the bakery on short downrods that were in terrbile shape, and two over the salad bar on 10', yes ten-foot down rods! When the store closed, they instantly removed the bakery and salad bar fans, but the checkout ones still hung. When they subdivided the space, I splipped a note under the door requesting the remaing fans. It took a month, a guy called me, and said I could have them. But they ripped them off the ceiling, some with electrical boxes still attached, and tossed them to the ground. Blades destroyed, oil everywhere, you name it. I still have several motors, but only enough blades for four a-piece. Not to mention, major finish damage. I have two hanging where I store my fans, they run well. The rest I am comtimplating getting rid of for scrap since they are in such poor shape, missing parts, etc. They have sat with my storage fans for close to ten years. Sad to see them in this state, especially since there were in great shape til' the demo guys got their paws on them.

Yeah, it seems like demolition guys go nuts when taking down ceiling fans; they could really care less since they assume they are going in the garbage... But that's cool that they gave them to you anyway! ;D
