The newer Slimlines are in my 94-95 catalogs. I dont know how long they were out before then.
I like the older Slimline, you rarely see them in polished brass. I also like the Broan/Alaska spinner, although I'd like it better with a bell canopy.
I remember those Atlantic Airs.
I have not seen a Supreme that new before.

I might be interested in the Supremes. Have you tested them at all?
Andrew, I think most Atlantic Airs were SMC's, although there may have been encons as well. They were Kmart's label.

Yes I know, both SMC and encon made fans under the Atlantic Air name for K-mart. The one pictured, however, is an encon.

SMC, Alaska, and CEC made Atlantic Air. I was never aware of Encon. That fan does look very similar to an Encon I'll admit.
I believe the Slimline was introduced in 1981. I have a 52" version similar to what you picture, with a bell canopy and non-reversible. It is on ToViewFans12 I believe.

Hey JW, I haven't tested the Supremes so I'm not 100% sure if they work or not, though I don't see any reason why they wouldn't. They seem to be in good condition and I'm assuming they were both in the trash because the office was remodeling and didn't need them anymore. If you want them you can have them, out of all of my fans they're the two I was probably going to get rid of.

My collection... Apologies for vaugue descriptions in a few cases In parents' house: Dining area: Tiny Craftmade 32" 4/5 blade, AB with oak blades (currently 4) and schoolhouse light. Kitchen: PB topmount spinner, stationary bottom housing with footprint vents, schoolhouse light. Originally came with 52" oak/stencil blades, currently has 52" dark wood arch-ends, type unknown, found in a Habitat blades bin. Office: Brown blenderfan with art-deco white globe light. Currently as (I forget the model) long, dark wood Emerson blades with ornate badges. Music room: 52" PB hugger, footprint vents, oak/stencil blades. Currently has five-light kit (four plus center) with six-sided, beveled glass shades. Minus light, this was my/our first fan when I was a kid. Living room: Inexpensive 52" fan, close-mount but not hugger, bronze-y finish with dark wood blades and conical amber mica light kit. My father picked this out, and as much as in any other setting I'd hate it, I like it there.
My house: Covered porch: brown/PB GE-vent fan, bell canopy, 42" dark wood blades, schoolhouse light. Front room (A deck I had enclosed, with an open beam ceiling) Ornate var. speed Winco(?) AB with GE vents and 36" oak/cane blades. Trying to imitate a fan seen in a local steakhouse when I was a kid, I modified pieces into a light kit, upending one of those large 70s-style bent, leaded amber glass "tiffany tulip" shades. Also, same room: White Encon Crompton-Greaves with 36" wood/tightweve-cane blades, Westinghouse Deluxe-style brass blade arms, and non-ornate light fitter with large, round prismatic clear globe. This fan is connected to an Encon wall control - on high, it spins incredibly fast and pumps out a ton of air. Bearings are great, it takes a good three or four minutes to coast down from low speed. Living room: 36" brown/brass old-style NuTone Slimline, with five-light fitter (four loop arms, each with a different antique shade, and a center fitter with a 70s gold-decorated white globe) Also, same room: Tiny (32"?) AB Monterey Fan Co. fan (knockoff of Homestead "Monterey") with four WIDE, stubby blonde blades on pretzel brackets. This is a close-mount fan, and the integrated light kit consists of eight arms, over a foot long each and 2" dia., extending outward and slightly downward from the switch hub. Each is cut at a steep angle at the end, exposing a small bulb, and each has a slot in the top above the bulb to shine light upward, forming an eight-point star. This is probably the hands-down coolest fan in my collection, a close second to the CG Encon.
Fans on the covered porch, waiting for shipment to Dan (these are his fans, NOT for sale/trade) include some NuTone Deluxe Verandahs, a brown 42" wood/cane Encon CG, an AB small (36? 42?) Casa Four Seasons, wood/stencil, and an AB wood/cane bananafan. I wish I had room to temporarily install some of these!
Fans of the past: Parents' house: Dining room: black/white 52" 5-blade, round blade tips, open C arms, black perf. sideband, four-spotlight kit, you all know the one. My/our 2nd fan. I begged my dad to get something else, but he liked this one. Spotlight kit gave us no end of trouble, we eventually replaced it with an identical brass one which soon got just as troublesome. Still got the blades if anyone wants them (as if...) Office: Was my bedroom as a kid. First fan was one of those late-80s 36" brown spinners sold at K-Mart, brand unknown, with reversible oak/walnut blades. Eventually replaced by a no-light brown Blenderfan with fake-wood blades. After seeing photos of antique 2-blade fans, I took off two of its blades, and used it like that for a while. Years later, plus new blades and a light kit, it's back in that room (see above) Back porch: Two odd fans given to me by a friend. White 5-blades with white/pink swirled shades on the 4-light kits and a matching white/pink swirled glass sideband using four lights. I never connected them to power, just hung them up. Long gone.
My house: Living room, where Slimline is now, had that two-bladed Blenderfan for a short time. Bedroom: Had a 30" PB/oak six-blade hugger with mushroom globe, you all know the one I mean. After a while, i modified the blades, using teflon bearings and springs from a hardware store. Placing a round white ceiling medallion atop the mushroom globe (looked a bit like an antique Guth Brascolight lamp, if anyone knows what that is) it partly hid the "nested" blades, and the fan ran for a few years as a poor man's imitation of a LeVelle "bird fan". Still got it, but it's taken down right now. It was fairly cool...
