manufacturer based galleries with sections for each models (in other words if possible, we create sub categories where anyone can post for the model names to avoid mess in main category)
for example: SMC --------emperor --------laguna --------K56 etc...
i am ok with the member based galleries but i prefer manufacturer based galleries
but keep the member based galleries for the member's fan collection and change it to VCF member's ceiling fan collection

manufacturer based galleries with sections for each models (in other words if possible, we create sub categories where anyone can post for the model names to avoid mess in main category) for example: SMC --------emperor --------laguna --------K56 etc... +1 One way to keep things in order would be to sort alphabetically. The only real way to keep every style/model clumped together would be to have someone moderate sort the galleries manually after images have been uploaded.

Even doing a manufacturer based gallery, i would have to create the categories for each brand, but then again once a member posts i think the software will still create a category with a username, so it would prob be something like this. Casablanca Ceiling Fans / username / his/her Casablanca fans. Thats just the way the gallery software is set up. I would have to shut them down for a few days at least and see what can be done, doing it another way. I will have to experiment more and back up the database.. So lets see what can be done. Just to let you know we may have some glitches at first

I just set the gallery to where you are able to create the manufacturer categories yourself now and it won't ad your user category after, you are able to to create manufacturer based categories, and now you will have to allow other users to upload to your manufacturer created categories. Now that i set it up this way all the previous categories are now all together, each user is going to have to move pictures edit/delete categories now, I can do some if it... If you want to ad sub categories after a brand like SMC / Laguna / Laguna Pics i believe that once a user creates the category he/she is the only one that's able to ad sub categories after it with the model, which means other users are not able to edit other user's categories (Only Upload Pics) It's up to you all. I just opened a can of glitches so we will have to work them out. Bear with me, Now do you all want to create brand categories or you want me to?

i modified my categories, removed a plenty of them and made all my categories (except my fan collections) permitted for other users to upload in them, once i encounter different models or a sudden increase, i'll make subcategories for these fans

The - Tais you may want to edit some of your categories like TMT
Similar to this
Title: TMT Ceiling Fans
Description: TMT Ceiling Fan Gallery. TMT was established in 1978 in Hong Kong.
Some members may have to move there current galleries from under there name, to VCF Member's Ceiling Fan Categories, and edit them, and make sure your categories are set for other members to upload. Then delete your user name category. If you delete your username categories with the categories still under it, all your categories and images will be deleted also. If another user already created a manufacturer category, than move your images into it.
You also may still be able to create your own personal gallery, Just make sure you name the gallery titled your user name ceiling fans. (The-Tais Ceiling Fans) and may wish to create a sub under as well.
I may create another category as tais stated, VCF member's ceiling fan collection. And have that as a member base for those who want to have there collection up..

I just got done editing the gallery, moved most pictures and re arranged things around. And alot of brands are listed, Also many brands are not listed yet, so you can either create the categories yourselves or I can do that. It's up to you all..
Also there is a members category for those who want to upload there collections...

Looks great, Adam! Would you mind moving my Encon Chili Pepper fan to the Encon gallery? It's currently listed in the 'Bajaj' section. Thanks!

The - Tais you may want to edit some of your categories like TMT Similar to this Title: TMT Ceiling FansThis addition... is overkill, absolutely ridiculous overkill... don't do this. Just list the brand. If you want to add "ceiling fans" to anything, add it to the description only.

I edited all the ones I created to remove ''ceiling fans'' from the title.

I really like it this way now with all the member's pictures mixed together by brands.
I added the picture of the 1991 Summer Breeze I just got so now we have a picture for the Hunter gallery.
I noticed some members uploaded pics of fans they sighted so I suppose this gallery is not only for fans we own? But maybe it should always be specified in the description ''I do not own this fan.'' ?
