EDIT: i guess this topic is more derailed than ever.
Jean/Phillipe, is the church willing to give you or sell the fan to you? i'd love to see a video of the fan in action!

I know it's insane all the off topic blabla that was posted in this thread. No I don't think they will let this fan go pretty soon but I will try to keep an eye on it.

The border is only an hour drive south. I'm pretty sure it was sold by a retail store around here. My KDK 12'' desk fan have the correct bilingual French-English sticker underneath the base. Of course on the center of the blades and the lock for the back grill there some English-Kanji writings but that's part of the plastic of the fan. A sticker can be added on request by the country it's sold in.

New York City-Montréal is 6h drive. I know I did it in 2008. Of course KDK were sold in Canada. I've seen quiet a few. That particular pedestal model is the only one like it I've seen but I've seen quiet a few KDK desk fans. Canada have/had a beautiful diversity of Japaneses fans from Toshiba, to KDK to Nationals to Panasonics to Sanyo and they were local brand that were made by Japanese and Taiwanese companies too like RECO, Electrohome, Superior, Super and Sears.

Sure... Why would I think you are starting a feud? But to answer your question; I don't have an stealth account I simply do what you and Zachary Yarnes do over here., have an account but offer no real contributions to THIS forums you too just have accounts to check what we post and report back to the other "musketeers". The only exception is I have no interest in your little forum, except just making sure none of my information flights over there and it's then credited someway to someone else but me. There's a difference I must point out, I and Brian have made no secret out of our accounts, so Perrey, what's yours on DT? and btw unless you happen to own the company you're talking about you can't call it YOUR information just because you posted it...that's like me going "Oooh look guys, Hampton Bay sells the Glendale" then getting pissed if anyone else posts that...sorry but you are wrong there... The proprietary information I find including company history, model year dates, old catalogs, schematics and photos that none of you don't have, is information I claim as my own because I took the time to search for it and post it. I reserve ALL rights of publication and reproduction and the polite and right thing to do is to credit the source for their time. Whether you and the other Musketeers like it or not, I will protect my information. Simple as that. Before you created your little forum with S.Brown, I was already a top notch contributor here. There are hundreds of post since the inception of VCF to back me up that my contributions are essential and unique to the fan collecting community. Noting and letting the community know that a certain brand in your case Hampton Bay is currently selling a particular model is NOT proprietary information. That's informative information open to the general public because is current and well known by the media/merchant selling that particular fan. Is not old information that needs to be searched for. When I have made announcements of current new models, I never claimed any of those post as my own proprietary information. If you have misinterpreted one of my post that might seems like that, you need to re-check your vision and re-read it again. However, If I'm posting a current catalog from The Home Depot or Lowes or even Casablanca, I don't want those scans flying everywhere on the net because A: I took the time to scan them and place them here at VCF and B: That's wrong claiming the time and work of others as your own without proper credit. Why would I waste my precious time having secret accounts on DT when all the good information is here?

@ Zachary Yarnes: I already warn you once and I will do it again and as many times as I need to until you get it., I'm sick and tired of you disrespecting me all the time and forgetting that I'm a moderator here. NOT you. Therefore your post will be edited. Simple as that. One more of your out of context post and I will delete it and lock this thread or any other thread you make mention of it. The subject in question is a KDK pedestal fan not you disrespecting me like I'm your pregnant dog.

However, Perrey has a history of researching data that no one else has the time, resources, and/or ability to do. He has asked that he be credited when his data is reproduced. I think that's a perfectly reasonable request, after all, if you you were writing a research paper you would be required to cite all your sources. My only issue is that it is not always practical. Say someone asks me "Who was the manufacturer of Homestead fans" I might remember that it's Halsey, but I might not remember that I learned that from Perrey. Or wait, was it Matthew Cody? Did Matthew learn it from Perrey? Hardly anyone remembers to cite their sources in day-to-day conversation. If you are researching something, search forum posts, specifically come across one Perrey has written, and use the information, then it's very easy to give him credit, and somewhat disrespectful not to. There's another fan site that has several images in their gallery donated by me, but credited to someone else. Just thought I'd point that out.

"There's another fan site that has several images in their gallery donated by me, but credited to someone else. Just thought I'd point that out." That's my goof that hasn't been taken care of yet. One day when someone has the time to track them down. I would fix it myself if I knew how. It happened because I put pictures on discs and didn't make a separate folder for your stuff. Then I mailed said discs and because I forgot about it, all pictures got credited to me.

I am going to close this thread for the time being. Perrey or Dan may decide to open it back up but I'll let them make the call. Mods, can we discuss the ins and outs of this stuff in private? I think we are breaking our own rules letting the thread go like this.
