OK, here's the so-called fan that I found...has anyone seen this kind before? Sure. Hampton Bay made that exact fan, albeit with 5 blades, for many years. It was called the Waterton.

The brackets were different on the Hampton Bay version...refer to the pics posted earlier in this thread. Also, There was a fan that looked exactly like the Waterton, but the only difference was that it had square (Hunter) type blades.

The earlier-style Waterton, as pictured in my early-mid 90s Hampton Bay catalog, had the standard irons and the older-style canopy (and the Hampton Bay logo printed on the side of the switch housing, as the old Hampton Bays did). And again, it had 5 blades. However, the 4-blade edition you pictured isn't so ugly a fan--save for the color scheme. I would get some neon paints and repaint it neon rainbow, and put a circular fluorescent blacklight tube inside the sideband. THAT would be a cool fan!

I used to have one of those, but it had 5 blades. It was on a really long downrod and it had a different canopy. I think it might have been an Encon. I gave it away a while ago.

Please note: the canopy on my white/black fan was not original...when I grabbed the fan, it was missing its downrod as well as the canopy.

The ones I saw had that canopy, were made by Halsey and also sold at Target. They sold similar fans via JCPenney.
