When I was 2, my father bought me a ceiling fan. A 52", 5-blade Beverly Hills. No light kit. 3-speed, reversable, spinner motor. Generic vent holes (long and thin ovals). It was multi-color...a child's fan...just like the Hampton Bay "Carousel".
I loved the thing dearly, unfortunately...I left it behind when we moved.
Anyone ever seen this fan? Know the model name? Pics? Info?
Anyone know anything about the Beverly Hills Fan Co?

I loved that fan. Such vibrant colors. Even the screws, canopy, and downrod were colored.
It is responsible for getting me "into" fans...I pay silent homage to it.

I have a Beverly Hills catalog from . . I forget the year, but check my catalog list, it's on there . . . that has that fan in it.
It was also sold by Sears through their catalog.
A few of those came into a resale shop I used to frequent, but the blade brackets were broken and whatnot.
I'll see if I can dig up that catalog and scan it for you, also I'll keep my eyes open.
Oh, yes, more trivia.
Beverly Hills fans were the upscale line of the same company that made Design House. They're now called Modern Fan Co. Perrey could check for sure, but I think the same Asian company that made those fans also made that same multi-colored fan for Hampton Bay. So that's another lead.

Dan, I'm glad you made that last comment about the similarity between the Hampton Bay and the Beverly Hills.
There are some VERY importnat similatities, but also some VERY important differences.
I don't recall the Hampton Bay fan too clearly, other than that: (a) it came with a light kit, unlike mine (b) the motor housing was very similar to the Beverly Hills, and very dissimilar to other Hampton Bay styles at the time
Let me add some important details about my fan:
* It had the "c"-shaped blade brackets...like an Emerson 1895-series or a Sears (Lasko) Turn-of-the-Century.
* It had some parts colored that the Hampton Bay did not...like the canopy and the downrod.
* On my fan, the downrod, blade bracets, and screws were all black. The pull chain was antique brass.
* The blades were these colors: neon reddish-pink, neon orange, neon chartruse, neon blue, and neon purple. I could be wrong about those though...it's been MANY years since I've seen this fan.
* The paint finish on the black parts was shiny (high-gloss). On the colored parts, it was matte...NO SHINE--NO GLOSS!
* The switch cup cover was a different color than the switch cup--unlike the Hampton Bay.
* The top plate, sideband, and bottom plate of the motor were different colors (I think)--also unlike the Hampton Bay.
I think I may have a pic at home. I'm on vacation now. When I get home, I'll check. If I do, I'll post the pic, and an updated description.
My fan was similar to the Hampton Bay, but it was much better quality. My fan was VERY well-built.
I should add that this fan holds a lot of sentiment for me. So I am, officialy, on an all-out, die-hard search for this fan. Like Dan and his Tara.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

One other thing...I remember seeing the owner's manual several times. It was the regular size, and rectangular...like a Hampton Bay. Inside, it was black-and-white (as per usual), but the cover was black, white, and hot pink.
The picture of the fan on the front cover was my model, but it was white...not multi-colored, leading me to believe that Beverly Hills offered my fan, in different colors.

The ReUse had a NIB Beverly Hills multi-colored fan. It was in flourscent colors. The lightkit was sold separately.

I had them in both sizes 42" and 52", It's called "The California Surfer" cool neon-like colors. They were pricey specially if you got them from the Sears catalog. The 42" version was only available at Sears or thru special order everywere else.

correction;
It says the 42" was called "California Surf" the 52" was "California Surfer".
another remarkable fan from Beverly Hills Co. was the ultra modern 60" 4-blades triple downrod "Le-Cirque" the canopy was one of the lights the other one was a bowl. it was made of die-cast and designed by Ron Rezek.

I might have sent them to James Pinette. I'll dig up my catalog and see if it's in it. I used to have two Beverly Hills catalog, but I think one went missing. I know one of them had that fan.
