For what it's worth, I do not store blades with the brackets on them, especially with shrink wrap. They tend to warp over time, even sitting "flat" on top of each other. I know it would be hard to do in an attic but I have a dedicated bookshelf with all my blades, organized by size (this would more or less include brand in a sense for those with unique shapes like Fasco and Crompton Greaves). Brackets go into large Ziploc bags with the fan that they go to Sharpied onto the bag if it's not obvious, and then those bags go into boxes or Rubbermaid tubs.
hmm.. quite a major update after major hauls in the past 2 years.. and i am still struggling with space
i was able to sort out the blades using a huge pile submersible pump cartons which happen to match perfectly for fan blades! SMC and union gave me a lot of trouble, however...
regulators are all messy around, i can't really do anything about it now since i dont have a proper place to store them.. they are placed in the date store
as for motors, all the motors are organized based on type and fan shape, i was forced to break several storage policies just to fit all the fans there... my policies were: no 2 fan motors touch each other no fan should be placed over the other
other than that, fan motors are mainly stored in my storage room, some are placed in front of the room and the rest, mainly the ones i cant put anywhere are in my bedroom
SMC fans placed over my cabinet:
Nope.. photobucket is too stingy to allow u to enjoy my gallery
