share your methods of storing your fans here first i'll start with mini fans: the mini fans are all put in a drawer with it's blades labelled in order to know which blade belongs to which fan the mini fans: the blades: the normal ceiling fans: the motors are kept between the bed drawer and the empty book shelf beside the mirror drawer. the 56" blades are kept under the bed aligned.. other than the 56", they are kept infront of the56" blades. each group is a set of blades of a fan.. but some blades are not kept over each other because it would scratch each other such as my relite fan's blades. the extra canopies are also under the bed on the other side. the extra downrods are stored under the drawers. all the regulators and variable switches are kept in a drawer. the motors (48" relite blades under drawer next to motor) blades canopies (ABC placed with them to prevent the bottom of motor from having stain marks)

If they're used. a Single fan or fans will be packed together with every accessory in one box to ensure they won't be lost. If they are new, they stay in their original boxes stack together with other NIB fans.

I'll post pics soon, I don't have them available now. Currently I'm just getting different parts into different boxes, and will then combine all parts to one fan in their own boxes in future. I just need room right now, so I've gotta separate stuff.

I keep my ceiling fans in boxes with their parts so they don't get lost. The boxes are in the basement.

Here's my pics, this is just the current set up, but when I get some boxes fans will be packaged probably two per box and all the parts will be in that box: Blades, just stored in various fan boxes I have laying around (Hunter, Emerson, etc that used fans came in). All sets are labeled very precisely and a label is placed on the outside of the box as well. Spinner brackets/badges and smaller brackets are stored in plastic containers, wrapped and labeled with all the bracket screws, and the container is labeled as well. Larger brackets are currently stored in shallow boxes with lots of bubble wrap between to avoid scratching and labeled within (the green sticky notes), also stored with the screws. There is a label similar to the ones on the blades boxes to identify what the box contains. Parts are stored in various containers that I have, light kits, spare canopies/mounting equipment, spare wire/capacitors/pullchains/etc. are all stored in separate containers as seen here. Don't worry about those lights either, most of them are beat up already, and those that aren't are always on top. Most glass is stored on one shelf, but I'm beginning to have overflow now that's just kind of wherever I can set it. NIB fans are kind of stacked around, some in a big pile, and some on shelves. Both are high from the ground if you're worried about flash flooding in the basement. Eventually most of these will probably go to my shop/storage place, as well as many of my other boxed fans when I get to that point. I don't have pics of motors, but many sit on shelves similar to where some of the NIB fans above are kept, and right now many others are just sitting on the floor of the basement because I have no place for them.

BTW I'm going to sticky this for now so we don't have to make a new one every month because it seems like this topic comes up quite often.

Whats the fan in the second to top pic on the ceiling? Is that second to last? I don't see any in other pics. It's my AB Casablanca Zephyr with the New Orleans blades, blade arms, and light kit just because I had them handy.

i wrap my fans and blades in plastic or cloth, go to Home Depot and buy the already cut plywood and build wood boxes, which cost about $40-$50 to build each. Each stores 10-12 sets of fans and blades. It's better than plastic and card board boxes, the plastic boxes break and the card board boxes rip and bend..
The cons with the wood boxes i make, is they are heavy, and the fans have to be taken out of each box to move, but at least now i don't have to worry about the boxes breaking and the fans getting scratched up.. I'll have to post pictures
