So I guess I should give an update the vehicles that we have:

Me: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Laredo 4X4, 4.0L Power-Tech Inline Six-Cylinder (I6), 42RE 4-Speed Automatic, and Selec-Trac Manually-Selectable 4WD.
I also have two other vehicles, which I might sell soon along with my Grand Cherokee, in order to get a newer vehicle:

So now I'm looking at the 2008-12 Jeep Liberty... just the right size for me, good fuel economy from the 3.7L V6 paired to the 42RLE 4-speed auto, and of course it's 4X4... found an '08 Limited Edition not too far from me that's not too expensive so we'll see... just want something more fuel efficient (slightly) and smaller, and newer.

You be careful and Jeeps got a poor rep for being unreliable and lemons at time too. I would get something more reliable.
Dad: He got a Toyota Tundra double cab and very relaible. Never had a breakdown.
Mom: She got a Toyota Highlander and it's good on gas and reliable she takes good care of it as well too.

I have a Toyota Tacoma and it has been extremely reliable. Farah, do you know what year your Dad's Tundra is? My Wife would love a Highlander they are VERY good cars!

I love the Highlander, it's a nice vehicle. My friend's mom had (still has but got a new car) one and it's nice. I like the Liberty for its size and performance is good for a small SUV. Plus it looks like a Jeep as most Jeeps are going round.

Frontiers are great trucks, although dated in styling a bit (it's a truck, it's SUPPOSED to be dated in styling, LOL) . The 4.0L V6 is/was used in so many different Nissan products over the years (Frontier, Xterra, NV1500/2500HD Vans, and Pathfinder, just to name a few, and we'll probably see a variation of it in the Titan in the coming years) and is a great engine. If you get anything but the top-of-the-line SL like the one pictured, a manual tranny is available even WITH 4X4.

It was awesome to drive, but it was a piece of junk. Nothing but problems with it so off it went and they got a Tacoma. I actually liked the Frontier better then the Tacoma but wasn't willing to risk the problems plus the Tacomas are bulletproof. The new Ranger is coming out in 2 years, I'm curious to see that. I'd consider the Tacoma but its so expensive compared to the Frontier, and its not as fast.

I'd consider the Tacoma but its so expensive compared to the Frontier, and its not as fast. I agree on both points there. I bought mine with 7,000 miles on it (It was owned by a Soldier getting deployed and didn't want to make payments while overseas). I thought I was getting a good deal (or else I wouldn't have bought it). I watched the sales manager freak out on the salesman when he introduced himself and saw the price I got it for because the night manager approved the price over the phone to me. The new Colorado/Canyon, I like but they were kind of like a smoother shifting Tacoma when it came to power and I didn't like the layout inside it felt more congested. However if I was buying a new truck tomorrow I'd go GM because these new Tacoma's (2016+) are terrible and getting traded in left and right. I'm very happy I went with the 2015 although I did test drive a '16 and it had more power but that engine/transmission combo is apparently very finicky. The dealer wanted $25,000CDN for the 2012 Frontier SL with 78,000kms on it(48ish thousand miles). Test drove a silver 2014 Tacoma TRD double cab with similar miles and they were asking 10k more.

I believe it. Where I live in the U.S. a Frontier packaged like that new can be haggled for around $30,000 with the sticker price around $36ish. The Tacomas are insane with used sales. I have a friend who bought a 2011 Tacoma in 2015, it had 75,000 and was a smokers vehicle. The MSRP on the exact truck new was $1,000 more then what he paid. Most of the dealers around here ask more then sticker for them and even with 40 some thousand on it you'll get them for at best three-four thousand off sticker price used! Its insane the prices for those trucks let alone any truck now a days. The full size ones are even worse but I don't want something that big!

I paid 13,500 CDN for it and have already put 22,000 miles on it in a year, trouble free. Even took it to Fanimation in Indiana a month ago.

At my old summer job we had a regular cab ranger. It was a nice truck. Eventually it was totaled. My Mom is dying for the new ranger to come out, she always has wanted one.
