Wow, that's a nice one! The motor housing is the same as my white one, but it doesn't have the badges and variable speed control like yours does. Really cool find!

Looks very Lasko like to me, but it does appear to have a K55 motor. I don't have expertise on these, but it seems to me only the Lasko ones had variable speed, but I could be wrong as I've seen stranger things with Emerson.

Great fan, Adam.
Where did you get it?
I had one EXACTLY like Rick's, but had to part it out since it had some issues and did not look safe to run. Yours, however, is in pristine condition!

The blade medallions are the only things that are Lasko-like. Variable speed Laskos were never vari-low.

Would this be the ornate TOC? I don't see anything ornate but the sideband..

I'm trying to remember, Dan had one of these installed in his parent's house (Vari-Low) and I thought he said it was Lasko but I don't remember now. IDK, you guys know more than me on these so I'll leave it up to you.

Would this be the ornate TOC? I don't see anything ornate but the sideband.. Almost all TOCs have ornate parts. First, we start with Emerson: The first Emerson TOC to my knowledge was the bastard child of a 52" round-vent plastic Emerson and a blender. It had a plastic housing and a very large hump atop the motor, to accommodate the lower canopy of the K63 blender motor. It has an ornate bottom plate covering the vents and had ornate blade medallions. It was available with 3 speeds. The semi-ornate ("plain") Emerson TOCs came in "casablanca classic" and "1895 series" varieties respectively. The 'casablanca classic' variant (the one you have) had a dropped flywheel and the typical TOC housing with an ornate sideband and blade medallions. It was available in 3 or variable speed. The '1895 series' version was basically just that.. an 1895 series with a TOC housing. It had a KB55 motor, an ornate sideband and blade medallions. it was available with 3 or 4 speeds. Now the "ornate" variant of the Emerson-made TOC is a bit of a mindf&ck, really. It is again, an 1895 series.. but with an grossly ornate and differently shaped housing. It also had ornate blade medallions. It was variable speed only, to my knowledge. ... Now, we come to Lasko: The Lasko TOCs came in three basic varieties: plain, semi-ornate and ornate.. all with the same basic motor housing. The plain version has no ornate parts whatsoever. The semi-ornate version came with an ornate sideband and blade medallions but retained a plain bottom plate (similar to the "plain" Emerson versions). These were available with 3 or 4 speeds. The fully ornate version had the same housing as a plain or semi-ornate TOC, but in addition to the ornate sideband and blade medallions, had an ornate bottom plate covering the vents. It was strictly variable speed.

Great info there... I like the Casablanca classic varient and the lasko version better than the 1895 series look-a-like..
I guess the Casablanca classic variant with the variable speed is more rare than the 3 speed model..
I remember seeing a catalog with the laskos versions including the five blade version.. If i recall it was posted years ago on the forum here

Great info there... I like the Casablanca classic varient and the lasko version better than the 1895 series look-a-like.. The 1895 series version is far nicer when it has 4 speeds... ;D I guess the Casablanca classic variant with the variable speed is more rare than the 3 speed model.. You would be correct. I remember seeing a catalog with the laskos versions including the five blade version.. If i recall it was posted years ago on the forum here This 5 blade variable speed thing, although similar, it actually not a TOC.
