Here's my Holmes Tropicool This is my first electric fan, my mom bought it in the spring or summer of 1998 to use my room when I was 1.

Here is another childhood fan, my Kuo Horng KH-06R, this fan was at my grandparent's house when I was little. The fan was used by my grandmother a lot, eventually it was put away and I haven't seen it since I was 10, I just assumed my grandmother donated it. This past summer I wanted a small desk fan for my dorm room and I asked her about this fan, she said she doesn't know what happened to it, as she hasn't seen it in years. A few weeks ago I turned 20 and my grandma gave it to me as a birthday present.

I've always thought those Tropicool fans were neat, especially for something newer..
That's a cool story behind the Kuo Horng! I have a number of fans from my grandparents in my collection as well..

I have a Tropicool too, but it's blue with green blades... I got mine back in 1999 or so, I saw they came back again at Walmart recently.
I wish I had my grandparents fans. My grandma on one side had a 16" Galaxy with blue blades that was like new and even had the manual. I used to play with it as a kid. But she sold it in a yard sale when she sold her house and I didn't ask to keep it.
My other grandparents had a blue bladed plastic fan of some kind. I have a picture of me playing with it. They actually gave it to me because they said it didn't work but my parents made me throw it away because it only worked sometimes and they thought it had a short. They had a blue bladed Lasko box fan also but I don't know what happened to that. They still have a late 90s gray and white Lasko 16" I think.

I want one of those 90s 16" Lasko fans,, my grandparents gave me their 12" one and I have the newer 9" one..

I think they were branded the same but I don't remember exactly.
The 90s ones were ok, theirs had the plastic rear grille. Those were the last Laskos I really liked, but they were noisy. I had a 16" stand fan with the round base for a while but donated it back because it was too noisy for me. I wished I knew Martin wanted one for the motor, but it was after I donated it. Mine had a chipped blade.
I still have a gray and white 9" Lasko that my grandparents took me to Walmart to buy back in 1995. I still have the manual but not the box unfortunately. It still smells new! I didn't use it much and kept it in plastic.

I don't find it as powerful as other 90s oscillators though..
Does it have those weird-shaped blades? That doesn't seem like something you'd get rid of,, but if it ever needs a new home I'd definitely be interested..

They brought back the Tropicool in 2011, that was the only year Walmart sold them. I'm not sure for how long they made them, but by 2013, I couldn't find them. I really would like to get one in purple with green blades.

That's one I never really use, but don't plan to sell. LOL I love the little 6" ones too. I got a hunter green clip-on for my birthday back in 1992, but the clip quickly broke so it went back to the store. Ended up getting a lime green Aries clip fan from the dollar store instead, which I still have. I managed to find a nice 6" desk top Lasko at an estate sale a few years ago, so I finally got another 6". They move good air for their size.

It looks just like that actually. The 6" says type 6-1 style KF on the bottom. It's the older version from the 90s with a metal front grille.

C-frame. I think the 9" uses a modified C-frame as well actually.

The 9" does have a large C frame shaded pole in it.. I haven't opened up the 6" so I can't say for sure,, but it looks like it may have one of those round ones in it.. I'll have to check it out one of these days..

I got this Edison box fan last summer at a yard sale. It's a 3-speed with a plastic front and a metal rear grille, I'm not sure if it is a Thin N Lite or not, I know the 2-speed versions were. This is my first vintage box fan. I also have a Holmes HASF-2016T with Master Touch. I've never heard of this feature before, when you touch the front grille, the fan turns off, touch it again and it turns on again.
