I like the Champion as well. It performs pretty well..but you can hear it vibrate from across a room when its on...especially when its touching a door frame or wall. I won't be able to make a video of it anytime soon.

Very nice! The fan seems to be running great compared to your first video.

The grille badge is a sheet of metal glued into the plastic ring. It isn't painted. Galaxy commonly made badges with amber/brown coloring throughout the 80s. They used other colors, but as far as this color went, you could find it on box fans made by Galaxy (subsequently- Lasko).

Probably late 80s. Maybe mid 80s. There's also the distinct chance that it isn't the original grille.

Yeah, all of mine have a silver part instead of the tan in the center of the grille. My only Galaxy with a tan badge is a little 9"? one that is a completely different model from these.

OH I thought he was talking about the insert (says "Galaxy") inside the badge. Yeah I don't why mine is tan colored and not silver. Mine is probably late 80s because silver badges began to go out, and tan/white/black badges became the norm, before ornate-ness disappeared in the 90s. There could be numerous explanations.

Yeah, sometimes wording can be confusing. Makes sense what you said though, they could easily have made some transitional changes near the end of the 80s.

Another idea came up: the fake chrome peeled off. I think the tan color is original, it never was chrome as long as I remember. If my Grandpa were around, I'd ask him. LOL.

I'd say it's highly unlikely. All three of mine in this style (both 12" and the 16") have the silver over a more translucent plastic, not full out tan. Also, I doubt it would peel off that evenly and leave such a good finish underneath. At least Galaxy did make badges like that, so you at least know it's genuine.
