Well Jean, it has to do with that we can't comment on YouTube from here.
And I suddenly have an obsession with Canadian fan grilles.

Well Jean, it has to do with that we can't comment on YouTube from here. And I suddenly have an obsession with Canadian fan grilles. That's why I put the little clickable images, you can always click on ''Watch on You Tube'' on the right bottom.

I missed the thread... There's been so much activity on this forum lately it's been hard to keep up. I mean, not a lot of activity, but more than we've had in months. Not that I'm complaining, it's great! And I haven't been on YT much, only to exchange messages with a friend.
Nice fans though, I love the switch panel on the first one.

Tony, that's the Canadian style of grille. It's their standards. In the US it's different.

I'll be willing to bet that those grilles are not any better in terms of the spot welding that makes wire metal and metal ring as one piece of product compared to US grilles.

Chris and Perrey I'm surprised you like those grills. Most say that they don't like them. I don't particualry like or dislike them. There ok but not awesome either.
To everyone: You mean that by 1980 in the States fans still had grills that were not finger-proof?

In the US, in the 1980s= this:

Today? This: Or this: With some variations between the two. If you ask me, I think the 1980s grille from the US, should have a stiff (non-flexible) window-screen mesh behind it, and that should be sold today. It would look vintage (80s vintage that is), while still being safe to an extent. Today, grilles are somewhat 1980s like here in the US, but they're more closer to Canadian standards. Still doesn't stop a child from sticking their fingers in the damn blades.
