Wow awesome your Toshibas! The 3rd one did you got it on EBay not so long ago for 185$? If not its the SAME model. How would you know that? that fan was listed for less than 1 hour before I made a deal with the seller to have it cancelled and then re-list it again as a BIN for $185.00...

Duane post it on the fan forum. But even after an AD is removed or the time is over it still seems to stays for a while.

You know, I keep reading here and there that the blades on these Toshiba's are brittle, and that one wrong move (such as a little kid sticking a foreign object in there) would damage the blades pretty badly. Of course this could be all types of blades- does anyone know what kind of blade material is brittle?

Of course this could be all types of blades- does anyone know what kind of blade material is brittle? Any blade made of ABS, LUCITE or LEXAN which is Polycarbonate Resin Thermoplastic will break if foreign objects are inserted into the guards. They are not flexible. KDK/Panasonic/National fans use to manufacture their plastic blades with ABS and LUCITE. The ABS blades would loose their color tone within 5-years based on the chemicals use and would eventually break on it's on within 10-years. Polypropylene or PP and Polystyrene or PS are also two types of plastic commonly use on the blades from the old fans from Taiwan., it has a bit or resin mix into it and will not break easily and can be somewhat flexible depending on the thickness and chemical mixture. But if you drop them, they will break. The latter (PS) is the new standard for blades for current fans since is cheaper and lighter and will not over stress the weak motors of today's fans.
