They were some of the firsts SMC's to have the reverse switch along with the Rainbow hugger. You mean in Canada? I thought it was like that everywhere until I stumble on this site and discover some ''vintage'' SMC Lagunas from the 1980's with reverse switches. At first I thought they were reproductions of vintage ceiling fans. Hehe! For me the reversing switch was the big new feature on ceiling fans in the late 1990's.

Look who's talking, you that believes that every spinner is made in eastern Asia and that they were no spinners before 1978 or so. I've been to some countries that they probably haven't heard of the reverse feature on ceiling fans until the 1990's. Oops! We've never know exactly if you stepped outside of the US and if you did, where. When I was in Florida before this site existed, I did not know much about the age of fans so I could not tell much the age of fans even if they had a reversing switch or not.

I never said those things. I have been out of the US, it's been documented on this site. Ceiling fans were invented in the US and sold largely in the US. The market outside of the US is pretty insignificant.

That SMC looks like the Grayton they sold in 2000 and 2001 before they brought out the Grayton II in 2002. Except the graytonnhad a mushroom globe. That's what I was thinking. I rather like those; seems like the "transition" Graytons are kinda hard to come by.

Pretty insignificant outside the US? Ouch! Where have you been? Antarctica?

You must be thinking of someone else.
Yes, insignificant. Not in terms of dollars or units sold, but in terms of design, innovation, and anything else that would interest collectors.

Don't worry, i'm still alive! 3fans this week, first 2007 canarm summit. the upper light globe was not with the fan beautiful fan and a duet of 2 canarm from 1989 The one with the round shade was spray painted, but they protected the brass parts, they did a good job. and they also painted the blades of the other fans. ...I will keep both of them ( if they are working) summer is comming! Also, the store is under remodeling, I have pictures, if you want to see them,
