to be sure they wont get hit by furniture Thats a good idea. We have a massive thrift store near my college that has Industrials high up for that reason. The problem is though they built some metal shelving that holds furniture (ironically) for sale like couches and so forth. Some of the shelving is built right in the way of the fan blades. So the fans are never on. Its kind of like the old saying "One bad apple, ruins the whole bunch" because now none of the fans can run although it'd probably be smarter with how hot it can get in there to just take those ones down either sell them or move them into another room.

Yes you're right at least if they have a plug and not 3 wire they can only be unplugged and left there while the rest of the fans are on

I don't believe they are plugged in but it gives me a reason to go shopping there soon to find out! That's always a good reason! Take some pictures too. I've seen a number of stupid installs like that which prevent the fans from running, the dumbest ones are the ones mounted so close to a wall the blades can't complete a full rotation. I honestly can't imagine what they were thinking when installing. They are too high to reach by a customer The ceiling is 9'-3" high ! We always lift furniture to move them, The fans were hit a few times, but it's not too obvious when you look at them Goldines with guards would be the perfect and more effective solution, but those are ridiculously expensive...

How much do those Guarded Goldlines cost? The only time I ever saw them was when I went to Niagra Falls nine years ago.

They want white fans so they don't look too big on the ceiling They will laugh if I suggested a fan with guards, The studio's picture i posted on the last page is not good for our store, it will hang too low so for the next fan I will have to choose a hugger or a flush mountable fan, or one with a very small downrod For example, hampton bay industrial!

I think the guards alone cost upwards of $200, I'm not really sure about the fans. Depends on the size. Dan would know. The Hampton Bay industrial would be a great option for there. If installed with the short downrod they don't hang down that low at all. They're much cheaper than the Goldlines also. They may not be the greatest quality ever, but I think they're good for what they are.

Haha i don't think so They are convinced that the actual fans are perfect they will never pay 750$ for a few fans.. so if i change them, they have to be cheap, and i don't know

"Lets flushmount garbage fans on a 10ft ceiling so they'll move no air and just waste electricity!" Genius.

The ceiling at Entraide Mercier is probably just around 2,5 m. They could have regular fans on short poles though.
