Thanks. Shame the blades aren't original. I usually don't care too much for small fans, but I do like them with short, fat blades, especially if they go really fast and push a lot of air for their size.

Yes you're right
This fan was very powerful and was running very fast and pushed a lot of air for a fan that small.
The fan was 36'' with non-original blades I think the fan was originally 42 ''

Very cool 4 Saisons control. I discovered the existence of this style of 4 Saisons control only last year on a Kijiji ad that showed an ivory pull chain Galaxy on this control. It must have been made to control more than two fans on the same regulator. Probably up to four maybe even up to six.
How did you wired it?

Hole up.
How did you "test" the control without a fan?

for the control.
I connected the black from the control with the black of the fan and the black of the plug same thing for white wire with the 2 other white
The control is 4 speeds
...maybe it could work with a fan without a speed switch, like an industrial

Yeah, you probably burned up the control.
Correct hookup: black from plug, black from control. white from control, black from fan. White from fan, white from plug.

Shoot, like Dan said that control probably got toasted. Regardless of what color the wires are, you pretty much never hook a fan control in with neutral. One wire always goes from the hot source, and the other always goes to the hot running up to the fan.

I'm surprised that this control is 4-speed. I thought they were solid state variable speed. It's awesome that they had a quiet 4-speed control of this style.
I have a 4 Saisons variable speed control and I was a little confused too on how to wire it as it have a white and a black wire. Newer controls have two black wires. I asked here on how to wired it. You should have done this if you were not sure. I guess white wires on controls are never used as a neutral.
With what fan did you tested it?

In the last months of 2013, I showed you a 38'' black Nadair, Here's the fan with it's original light kit and it's now for sale 3rd, 1992 Canarm ... It's a tempest with 4 lights, plain wood/ cane I'm not sure what is the real name of the model 4rd, Smc Scandinavian Wh. No stickers on top of it, i can't tell when it was made maybe around 1998-2002 white / bleached oak blades

Great fans! I like the black and the hugger fans the best.
