The other side of the blades are walnut. Oh okay; any chance you could make a video, Jean? Ah! Ah! You thought it was like the USA Promos and had stencil on the other side of the blades? ;D No, Canadian Promos have plain blades, are 36'' instead of 42'', always cammed with that globe with the two gold bands that I LOVE and have the good ol' reverse pull chain. 42'' Promos in Canada cammed later around the mid 1990s to early 2000s. That one I got there is the earliest kind of Promo made. Yes I will make a video of it. The bearings are still kind of loud and the light kit pull chain will need replacement as I feel its gonna brake really soon. Its really weird with you pull it. But wait till you see this monster in motion. Muhahah it runs so FAST! I wonder if the Promo was not one of the best bottom mount spinner made?

I love SMC's...............they're sexy IMO. ;D Well the unique things about SMC is that its one of those Chinese company that sold some ceiling fans for very low prices but their fans have use a lot of specific parts. They have some stuff really unique to them that are really cute, like the two different kind of Laguna switch housing they offered over the years: that one and the older ribbed one from the 1980s, they have their famous half moon brackets with a heart in the middle that is really cute, there canopy with the littles lines and the lips, the rounded pointed tip blade etc Its my favorite Chinese/HK ceiling fan company. ;D No sorry there from Hong Kong, that might be why they have always use some more specific parts and there fans are more prestigious that most of typical Chinese companies that use very generic mass produced parts even after their fans begin to be be made in China instead of Hong Kong after 1988 and there quality of their fans lowed a lot.

I just posted the video review link a few hours ago but just like I expected it there was a glitch in it cause I did not had the time to watch it all after it was edited. (Damn College!) So just don't watch it or post comments on it till I fix it. I cannot deleted it for the moment. Damn College computers I cannot even have full acess to You Tube. I don't want to have comments on a video that will be trashed anyway. I won't be able to repost it until Friday. GRRR I hate theses computers we have in this College! They don't work well with You Tube.

I just watched the video, Jean! Love that Promo! Glad to hear it is a powerful fan - seems like one of the better bottom-mount spinners.

I just watched the video, Jean! Love that Promo! Glad to hear it is a powerful fan - seems like one of the better bottom-mount spinners. I'm wondering if its not even the best bottom mount spinner ever made. Its really GOOD for a bottom mount spinner. Of course that's a pretty early one(1991). I really was NOT expecting theses to be that good. It blows a LOT more air than my 1989 Laguna. The air movement is just insane for what it is. I heard so many bad things about Hampton Bay Grayton which are made by SMC and is basically the Hampton Bay version of the SMC Promo but that one I got is nothing cheap. I'm pretty sure the real genuine SMC ones are betterly engineered and have a bigger motor cause the RPM are insane on that one and I never head anyone saying that a Grayton is even powerful. That one IS!

The fact that the Promo is 36" probably makes some difference, as the Grayton is 42" and probably has the same size or even smaller motor than the Promo, kind of like you said already I guess. I wouldn't doubt it being one of the best, lightweight parts on a powerful motor makes for major air movement. I really like the look of these in PB, so sporty.
